  2. I'm the one adopting the cute little orange kitten in a week... please help me figure out who to go to?

  3. Benjaminbutton, I see you have found the KittenMaster's thread explaining what happened to the last months data. The best advice I can give you at this stage is stick with your new account and username.
Maybe you could refresh our memories and tall us again about the cute little orange kitten you are adopting.

  5. Oh, I'm glad you are still here. Thought you might be a bit confused about what had happened. You're not the only one, most of us were very confused to see all the posts were a month old. Don't worry about getting worked up, I would have too.

  6. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ! ! ! So cute, I remember the sweet wee thing. One of our farm cats some years ago had a kitty that lovely caramel colour and it was called Cameo.

  7. Oh, you are so going to love having a kitten around! Bet you can't wait!!!
What kind of supplies have you gotten for him so far?

  8. Thanks everyone! I've bought water/food bowls, a scratching post, a cardboard scratcher (with catnip but won't use it yet as he's so young), a few toys (one Kong kitty toy and a couple others), a bed, and some food. I also got him a litter box, litter and scoop... I think that's all.

  9. That's great - he's a lucky kitty! When my Bob was young and teething he kept attempting to bite me. I'd give him a beanie baby to attack and chew on whenever he got the urge - I think the knog toy will come in handy for that!

Since I can't see the original thread, I don't remember if anyone mentioned "kitten-proofing" your home? I couldn't believe how many things my guys got into when they we're little (and still do - came home to an overturned plant the other day!). Make sure if you have any plants around that they aren't toxic to cats like many plants are. You can find lists on-line. Also, beware of electrical cords of any kinds - kitties love those! Also, make sure there arent any cleaning products etc. around where the little guy can get into them.

  10. Thanks GD! Any tips on how to make electrical cords safe? I think I heard there are covers or some bitter apple spray...

  11. Aluminum foil! The best covering ever for electric cords to keep them from chewing! One bite on that and they will never do it again, and it is non-toxic.

Of the 4 cats that I have had in my life that I needed to kitten proof for, none of them were interested in chewing wires though. None of them ever chewed anything actually. I have had some really scratched up furniture (scratching post will help with that) and have been worried about them getting into small places though :)

  13. What an adorable orange kitty! Do you know what you're going to name him?

So far Poof has shown no interest in the wires other than batting the usb cords around on the computer. I try to find a close toy and distract him and usually he moves on quickly.

    Good Luck!!

  14. Well initially I was thinking Oliver but I kind of prefer Benjamin now...

    Thanks!
