  1. So I rejoined and will be bringing my little one home on May 1st. I should be all moved in by then, fingers crossed! If not I'll try to get the woman at the foster home to keep him an extra day or so in order not to disrupt him too much. I want his first day(s) home to be as calm and fun as possible!

He's 9 weeks and I bet he's already getting big! He was a lil over 2 lbs. at 8 weeks... I may email the foster mom again to see him soon... I miss him!

  2. So far I've bought water/food bowls, a scratching post, a cardboard scratcher (with catnip but won't use it yet as he's so young), a few toys (one Kong kitty toy and a couple others), a bed, and some food. I also got him a litter box, litter and scoop... I think that's all. That and he'll have a ton of empty cardboard boxes; I'm sure he'll LOVE those!

  3. He will definitely love the boxes!! I used to take Bob to work with me when he was a kitten and there were always boxes around which he loved. I turned one upside down and cut a hole in it as an entrance so he could hide out in there - he loved that! It's amazing what they can turn into toys!

  4. Already spoiled and he's not even home yet! Life is good for a kitten with a safe and loving home!

  6. Just so you know, your kitten will undoubtably prefer snuggling up with you in your bed, then sleeping in his bed at night. (at least until you train him otherwise). My cats do use their beds during the day though. We aren't complaining. We like the kitties in the bed. The more the merrier.

  7. I didn't buy a bed for August & Lucy until I'd had them a few months, and I actually almost regretted it! They loved the bed so much (and why not, it's up high, on top of a scratching post, climbing thingy) that August stopped sleeping in my bed with me for a while. I missed him! But seriously, I'm glad August & Lucy love their bed so much. August still starts the night off in his own bed, but by the time I wake up in the morning I usually find him snuggled up next to me: the perfect compromise!

  8. Awww! Yeah the bed was inexpensive so I am not too worried if he doesn't use it too much. Thanks!

Should I get him a big climbing tower type of thing, or is it okay to hold off for now?

  9. If you have the money, why not? By 10 weeks, he should be able to enjoy it. However, depending on where you put it, he could get on other things that you may not want him on and cause mayhem. :)

  11. Jen,
What is your new kitten's name? We built a cat tree for Poof over the weekend and at 4 months he LOVES it!! It did take him a few days to warm up to it but once he realized it was all his....

Did I miss a picture of your new baby?

  12. It'll be Benjamin (right now it's Merry). Do you have any pictures of the cat tree? I'd love to see it!
