    I'm so sorry, Kupcake. This is such sad, sad news. I was so hoping Mouse would make it with all your love and devotion. Such a short little life but it couldn't have been more full of love and care for wee Mouse. She had the most loving mum in you that anyone could have. They leave a very big hole in our hearts for such tiny things.

    Yes, there are always more kittens needing help but you need time to grieve. The time will be right when it's right. {{{Kupcake}}}

    I am so, so sorry. The littlest ones have a way of leaving such big holes in our hearts. You did so much for her. If it had been intended for her to be on earth for longer than her short life, your care and devotion would have pulled her through. Obviously, she was needed somewhere else even more than you needed her. She goes to her next life with a cocoon of love greater than many souls ever know.

    Everyone has a different schedule for finding the right time to get another kitten. Keep your heart open and listen for a hint from Mouse. She may send you more kittens to foster right away, or another orphan to hand raise, or even an older cat to love. If that happens soon, you won't be showing her any disrespect or lessening your love for her. Cats understand that a cat-lover will always have enough room in her/his heart to share more love.

    Oh Kupcake I'm sorry. You did more for her than anyone else would and she knew love because of you. She taught you things. And I'm almost sure that she had congenital defects of some sort that made it impossible for her to survive no matter what. I'm so sorry I know it hurts. [[[[[[Kupcake]]]]]]

    The owner of Mouse's mom emailed me today. She saw mouse's blog. She said that out of the six in the litter, Mouse was the fourth to die. It's so sad, and not fair :(

    my husband and I are talking about another kitten, he really wants one and I kinda do too. But be sure, I will not be undertaking any orphans any time soon, or maybe ever.

    Kupcake, if two thirds of a litter have died you have to assume that maybe mama was exposed to something that damaged her babies in utero. Or maybe she was just too young herself.

    Keep your heart and your mind open, Mouse will send you another kitten who needs you.
