Introducing Jasper!

(55 posts)
  1. Jasper is a beautiful and content looking cat, with a good dash of purrsonality, of course he's found his way into your heart. Dodie also looks like a character, let us know if it works out with him.

  2. Just got back from the vet....actually, Jasper was very good!!! And silent on the drive there and back! He does have coccidia, though...have to shoot some liquid med in his mouth for 6 days, yuk, that ought to be fun! Then another fecal sample to be tested in one month....I am wondering, if we would get another cat soon, could it be spread to the new cat, or vice versa?!

  7. Welcome Home Jasper! Katt, he is just adorable! I couldn't have passed him up either. He looks so loving. He will never be Mo, but Mo sent him to you to love you and help heal your heart. Mo is at the Bridge smiling down. Now, about Dody, he's my kinda cat, eats donuts!

  10. Ok, thanks GD...I printed out that info....I did read that adults can get it if their immune system is suppressed from either stress or a previous illness or injury. Also mentioned about lots of animals being in closed in areas....Jas has no diarrhea, hope it stays that way!
Yes, Dody's face is adorable :) Reminds me of ButterCups avatar :)))

  11. I do love orangies!

If Jasper's immune system is a bit bad, try sprinkling lysine on his food til he's 100%

  12. I just found a cold sore starting, need to go get the lysine for myself.

  13. Where do you get Lysine? It's a supplement, right? Is it the kind you get in the vitamin aisle, for humans??

Posted 2 years ago by katthays #

  14. I got mine for Milo at Entirely Pets online. Amazon has different kinds - powder, paste and treats:
    http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=lysine+for+cats&tag=googhydr-20&index=aps&hvadid=2983913395&ref=pd_sl_8rnq1rrpkx_e

I don't know if you can use the "human" kind on animals.

  17. KH, I love Jasper, and you need Dody too!.... reminds me of my sweet Milo (orangie) that went to the bridge 2 yrs ago, and was the reason I joined TDK!...(((huggs)))

  18. Awwww how adorable~! Congrats on your new baby!!! I am SO happy for you both. Bless you for adopting a new kitty and giving him a nice home with lots of love. He sounds like he adores you already! :) How sweet! Loved the pix of all the kitties too! Sorry he has to be on meds though. Poor guy. Dody looks so sweet as well. I think it is wonderful that you are considering two kitties. I have 4 and they love each other. Two or three is a good number for me. Nice to have a playmate to chase after and pounce on, and especially to cuddle up with! I love it when my four are all cuddled up asleep together on my bed. Gavin usually likes being by himself or with me, but does cuddle with the others. :0) Bless you dear!!!!!

  21. I just read on some baby website that the name Jasper for boys is coming back. So you guys are ahead of the trend :)

  22. Of course I don't mind, when I first started working at the shelter, the shelter cat (a lovely boy, now sadly at the bridge) was also called Jasper. It is a hot name!

I really am going to bed now...

My mother says whenever she hears the name Jasper, she thinks of a villainous Victorian landlord, swirling his moustachios and throwing the heroine and her family out on the street...

  23. Bumping for pic of smiling orangie Dody on Katt's photobucket...cool description...hahahaha Hunk at 1/2 price!!!

Posted 2 years ago by jeankit #

  24. LOL, JK! He IS smiling for sure :)) No one seems to like his name that the shelter gave him, so if we get him, that will probably change. I think Dody is rather cute, though! Hubs kept calling him DoDo, not sure I like that!

  25. Hmmm he would be Jasper's Bro Dody...kinda cool...hope it works out!(Hmmm so that makes Crockey a hunk of a cremesicle...I still call him my sack o'tomcat sounds more enderaring than sack o'potatoes! Gotta luv those big ol' tomcats! Even Dot is sorta warming up to him too!)Again, Dot & Crock send you good luck purrs on your pending new addition to the family! PS...if it is not meant to be then your future addy to your fur family!
