I thoroughly enjoyed reading your blob. Hmmm.. the article on being extrordinary vs ordinary and ADHD struck a chord. Sadly, my 6 year old grandson is on some strong form of Ritalin (don't remember the actual drug).. and he's a zombie. I prefer he be allowed to be a BOY!

2 of my nephews and 1 of my nieces (all from my youngest sister) are on mood enhancement drugs. My youngest nephew (he's 6) goes catatonic after taking his meds. I can't understand why the doctor doesn't adjust the dosage so that he can be a kid.

Me too. My sister and I have had LOTS of disagreements about this. When I babysit, the kids don't get their meds until bedtime and they also get to go swimming. All I do is let them tire themselves out playing and swimming and being kids.
