((((Elizabeth and Cato))))
I know this wasn't the news you were hoping for, Elizabeth, but at least it sounds like there's hope for him. We're all praying for our Cato!

I don't know much about Cats with FIV but I met an elderly couple whose cat was 15 and he had FIV since kittenhood. Your Cato will have many happy years with you, Elizabeth. I trust that the others are not saying it merely to console you. I'm keeping you both in my prayers.

Honey, since Cato is an indoor-outdoor cat and is 7 years old, his true age in human years can be computed as follows:
First feline year = 20 human years
Subsequent feline years, indoor cat = 4 human years
Subsequent feline years, outdoor cat = 7 human years
Subsequent feline years, indoor/outdoor = 5.5 yearsCato is 53 years old in human years. At 53, most people are slowing down a bit, and some aches and pains and ailments are starting to emerge. It's all part of life itself. None of us like it, but it's there and part of the natural law.
That said, I am praying hard for Cato and you, and I hope that it is a long, LONG time until that beautiful boy goes to the Meadow. He has had seven years of wonderful care and deep and abiding love from you, and he will have more time.
How much? Who knows? Only the Lord.
All of life is a risk, and loving anything is a most blessed danger.
And it's all worth it. Every last second.
Much love, Elizabeth, and know that you and that sweet Cato are in my constant prayers.
Emma
