  1. *Happy Monday or Moanday! Today is World Lupus Day, a day to raise awareness of this cruel disease. If you know someone who suffers, please take a moment to recognize this day. If you don't, take time to know a little more about this disease. I have a coworker with this disease and I see how it effects every aspect of her life.

*"Lupus is a chronic inflammatory disease that can affect various parts of the body, especially the skin, joints, blood, and kidneys." You can show your support by wearing purple or wearing a purple ribbon today (ironically enough, purple ribbons are also the symbol of brain surgery survivors!)

*The Cafe is decorated in purple today and the kittehs all have on purple ribbons. The furnets are going on and aprons are coming out of storage. I can smell homeade coffee cake, cinnamon rolls, and apple turnovers baking. As always there is bacon, sausage, ham, canadian bacon, and biscuits and gravy. Hot and cold cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, toast, muffins and bagels are available to grab and go. Coffee and tea are brewing, juice, milk, water and sodas are at the bar. Please come in and join us, breeze thru and say hello and don't forget to pet the kits! Happy Monday, hope your day is amazing!

  7. Good Morning! :)
I know 2 people with Lupus. One is a friend, one a family member. Didn't know it's World Lupus day though. I will have to tell them!

  8. Morning CM :)

  9. Goodmorning all, I knew 2 people with Lupus(DLE or SLE). They have both since passed on because of this cruel disease.
Just checking in to see what has gone on today on TDK. Airy is sick in bed with gastro.

  10. Evening and morning, MS, Deb, MC and CM. Poor Airy, I'm sorry to hear that. I didn't know it was World Lupus Day either. It is a terrible disease.

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  11. Evening Jan, so sorry that Airy is not feeling well.

Posted 2 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  12. Deb, I'm really sorry that you are missing your mum today. {{{Deb}}} I don't know what I will do when I lose my mum, I know it happens to all of us eventually but I am so dreading it.

  13. Evening/morning ladies. We had a beautiful warm day here but I spent most of it inside keeping n eye/ear on Airy. Poor thing, she's miserable especially when running a temperature.

    Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  14. I'm not surprised, it's horrible being sick, especially when the weather is nice and you're just feeling too dreggy to enjoy it.

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  15. She definitely feels 'dreggy', she occasionally slides out from under the covers to drink more fluids or come downstairs to curl up under blankets in a chair.

  16. Evening Jane, its definately harder than I thought it would be. I knew it would be but one never thinks of it in a true sense until afterwards.

Poor Airy, I totally understand the feeling 'dreggy' not wanting to lie in bed but not really able to get comfortable anywhere else either.

  17. I bet she's glad to have her mum around, MS, I'm ancient now but I still hate being sick on my own, I would love to be at home with my mum taking care of me (poor mum)! Just to have someone there to sympathise and ask if you want a hot drink is so nice.

  18. We had a very warm day here today, did go out to dinner with friends for Mother's Day which was nice. Just lots of ppl out and the restaurant was very noisy, Texas Roadhouse is not known for their quiet dining experience, lol.

  19. Awww, Deb, that sounds really nice. I spent the day alone with the kitties, trying to scrape the last remnants of paint off my living room doors, it is driving me MAD. But my mum's coming up to stay next weekend, I am looking forward to that, hope it's not too cold for her here. And having coffee and lunch with various friends next week...

  20. just checked on the patient and she's running a temperature again and asking for HRH Shadz to cuddle. I said I would bring her up when I go up and she was happy with that.
Deb, I found Father's Day a bit difficult the first time after Dad passed away but now I do things on that day that Dad would have enjoyed.

    Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  21. It sounds to me like Shadz and Airy understand each other very well :-) Kitties are a comfort when we're sick.

  22. *waves*
Oh poor Airy. At least she is at home with her mom, and not in LA while sick. Something about being with mom helps :)
It is hard...My mom passed 3 years ago and the first time was really hard, but it gets a bit easier...we did go to the cemetery and pay our respects to her. Of course when we got there, Maddie kept saying, where is Grandma Jane? She wanted to see her and we did the best we could explaining, but you know...she's 3, doesn't really understand. :)
It's chilly here again today. We did play with the girls outside yesterday but I think they both have a bit of something...runny nose, runny eyes, so today is a stay in, relax kind of day. :)

  23. I'm drooping badly here, was up early to see mr MS off working out of town for the week. He rang tonight and the owner of the hotel they're staying in is an old friend from 20 years ago. The boys have spent the evening talking over good times.
Airy is calling for HRH so I'd better take her up[ and settle them both in for the night.
Sleep well and sweet dreams Deb and Jcat, Have a good inside day CM and I hope the girls fight off whatever they have now.
Goodnight all, headbonks to all your furkits.

    Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  24. {{{CM}}} {{{MS}}} It sounds like a stay in, relax kind of day is a wise move.

Nighty-night, MS, sleep tight and sweet dreams. I won't be far behind you. I hope that poor Airy feels better tomorrow and that you don't catch what she's got. How nice for Mr MS to catch up with his mate, that kind of thing always happens in NZ ;-)

CM, hope your girls feel better soon too and that you don't catch what they've got!

  25. Good morning. Hope Airy gets to feeling better. It's cool here this morning and supposed to be rain off and on all day. I'm still kind of tired today. I had a sore throat yesterday afternoon and spend some time napping. So far no soreness today, just tired.

  26. Night MS and jcat :) Have good dreams and a great Tuesday.
Hi LK! I know that tired feeling...I am so tired today. Hopefully you are not coming down with anything. (((LK))

Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

  27. G'night Jan, and hope that Ms. Airy feels better in the morning, scritches to HRH in the morning.

    Morning CM.

Thanks my friends, I know it will get easier, just didn't expect this one to be so hard.

Just saw the funniest video on Fox News, in Bern there was a baby bear stuck at the top of a very thin tree and Mama decided it was time for baby bear to come down so she climbs up half-way and the poor tree bends until it breaks and the baby goes scampering off :)

Posted 2 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  28. CM, did you read that short story up above about a new Mom? You would totally understand the 'tired' feeling.

    Morning Ladykat, you snuck in...

Posted 2 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  29. Hi, LK, sorry to hear you're not feeling 100 percent either. I'm still here, CM, I've just made a cuppa and I'll stay till I've drunk it. Craving chocolate but that would not be good and I have been very good lately so I don't want to spoil it... the delumpifying mission continues...

Deb, the bear video sounds lovely, I hope we get to see it here.

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  30. Jane, figure if nothing else it will be on youtube soon.
