New UPDATE on BUDDY

  1. Hi Family. Some of you may already know that when our furbabies are taking biotics for a long period of time that it begins to interfere w/their ability to go potty. With the amt. of biotics I was having to give Buddy for his injury,my worst fear was starting. He hadn't gone the poop in almost 4 days & was eating fantastic for being so injured. I stopped all biotics immediately hoping it would counteract the problem. With several drops of canola oil (which I'd been putting in his food all along) dripped on his favorite food,the poor,uncomfortable guy finally made poo. lol.
    Poor guy was crying for 2 days when he'd get in the box. I felt so bad.
    He's so not out of the woods yet. All the warm epsom salt compresses worked great to shrink the abcess but,there's still swelling underneath & clear injury affecting his jaw. I'll keep him off the biotics for a couple of days but if the infection flares up again,I can't be sure what to do at that point. He's happy as a pickle sitting on meowmy's lap. Even when I take him outside,he just wants to sit on my lap & watch all the goings-on. As I mentioned on FB...he nearly died twice & I'm just in awe that he still keeps fighting to stay. When I finally get a breather,I'm going to need 2 wks.of solid sleep.
    I know I couldn't have gotten this far if I hadn't had the Prayers & support from you all. I didn't have the strength & couldn't stop the crying & sniffling long enuf to. Let's hope the infection is at bay enuf for his body to fend it off himself w/out another round of biotics.

  7. Three cheers for Buddy the fighter! Some kittehs just seem to fight harder than normal to stay with their meowmies. Buddy sounds like that. Our Sid was like that too, bless his orange boycat heart. :-)
