I just got a kitten (about6.5 weeks). When I first got him he had solid poop but shortly after his poop became liquid. He is very active and playful and does not act sick at all. I feed him wet kitten food(canned) and he drinks water. Is there something wrong with him or do kittens often have liquid poop?

Liquid poop is not good but it may just be due to the change in his diet from what they fed him before to what you are feeding him now. It's good that he's eating wet food and drinking plenty of water as the main problem with diarrhoea (liquid poop) is that kitty can get very dehydrated very quickly, so he needs to keep replacing that water he's pooing out. If he remains active and keeps on eating and drinking and playing, that's good, just keep an eye on him. But if his liquid poop keeps on being liquid for more than a day or two, or he stops eating or goes 'flat' (limp and unresponsive), take him to the vet.

Welcome to TDK Jenn. I hope your kitty improves soon. Do tell us about him, what do you call him and what does he look like.

he has been like this for a few days now. But he remains very playful and very active. Should I wait until he has a change in his activity before I go or should I go a head and take him now?
