  1. Here is the contact number and description of your police department's crime prevention department:

The Crime Prevention Specialists at the Boca Raton Police Services Department spend countless hours in the education of the citizens of our community and are available to assist you in making your home or business more CRIME RESISTANT.

For Further information contact the Crime Prevention Office at (561) 347-3938.

They should be able to help you figure out what to do to stay safe, GD.

  2. GD, never open your door if you don't have a peep hole and the person doesn't respond. I second all that Kitten Whisperer has said. Please protect yourself against this neighbor. In the state of Calif, if a landlord is renting to someone who is a threat to the other tenants, they can be liable for anything the scary tenant does. If this is the case in your state, notify you landlord of the incident and of their obligation to evict the guy.

I would contact your local police for information on that as well as how you can protect yourself. I really hope there isn't a next time but if there is, immediately call 911 and then call boyfriend.

Please keep us informed. Hope you get some rest today and feel better. Hugs and purrs to you and Bobsky.

That's about it but in a greater quantity.
I have it copied and saved into my recipes!

  5. I forgot...eggnog pancakes, sausages, fresh fruit compote or fresh squeeze orange juice, hashbrowns, and a nice mocha. Would anyone like some? Cool weather here. Frost on the ground last couple of days. Brrr for us Californians.

  7. Karin...Do the eggnog pancakes have booze in them? If so, I'll take some, please. They'll go well with my Diazepam laced coffee I've already needed this morning. lol

Posted 4 years ago by feral #

  8. Sorry no, Susie. Mom made them with just straight eggnog.

Posted 4 years ago by SylvesterMiasMomma #

  9. Oh well...If mom made them, that's good enuf for me. Do you have blackberry syrup? That's my absolute favorite flavor of syrup.

Posted 4 years ago by feral #

  10. I am sure we can find some. That sounds yummy. Not sure it would go with the eggnog pancakes as we usually just use good canadian maple syrup but if you like it, why not try it.

  13. Hi Susie & Karin! Sounds like you are whipping up some festive goodies! Can I please have an egg nog with a drop of rum? Egg nog is not very popular over here, and I haven't had any ages!

  14. Sending eggnog over to Rubia with a drop of rum.

Posted 4 years ago by SylvesterMiasMomma #

  15. Yummmmm - Thank you Karin! Would you like some ginger wine? That is one of the treats we have over here at Christmas time. Very tasty - you drink it like sherry.

  16. Thank you all so much for your help! I'm going to check out the site Marsha mentioned for pepper spray and if the shipping etc, will take too long, I'm going to see if Sports Authority caries it.
I'm NEVER opening the door again unless the person out there is someone I know!
I also will take a trip to Home Depot and get a better lock. When I was hearing all the noises by the door I was painfully aware how this door is probably not all that strong.
The guy IS another tenant - has only been here two weeks, apparently. I had never seen him before. Landlord (who doesn't live on the premises) promised to talk to him and warn him to stay away from me.
I don't this guy was actually that drunk, despite the drink in his hand which almost made it more creepy!
By the way, he was even scaring Bob! I held Bob so he wouldn't run out (who know what would have happened if I had had to go out to chase him!). Anyway, Bobsky normally gets excited when people come and wants to sniff and all that. Not this time - he buried his head in my armpit!

Anyway, thanks again for all the advice and I'll heed it all!

  17. I'll try a spot of ginger wine. Sounds interesting. Hugs to GD and Bobsky for your horrible experience last night. Still get the pepperspray if he is still living in the place. Contact the police info that Kitten Whisperer suggested so you know your rights. Landlord should provide you with better locks on your door. Tell them you will buy it as long as they will reimburse you and install it asap. Landlord should not allow this person to stay there with that kind of behavior but I guess they have to wait till there is another incident to have reason to start eviction.

  18. FH I went to that recipe site too and found along with the honey butter lots of other really great sounding recipes too! Mmmmm Thank You!!

  19. GD...That sounds like it could have been a very dangerous situation. So glad you're ok but please listen to Kitten Whisperer..She knows what she's talking about. Personally I would have called the police as soon as he knocked the second time...better safe than sorry. I understand that putting in a peephole isn't that difficult. Please consider looking into it.

  20. I'm so glad you are going to take steps to keep yourself safe, GD!! What an awful experience. Let the Bobster help you get over this scare. His antics will help you put it out of your mind! {{{hugs}}}

  21. Marsha, I went to the site, you wrote about. GREAT site! It wouldn't hurt for everybody else to go there, too. I got the keychain spray and it was surprisingly inexpensive, I thought.
I have always thought of getting one, but probably never would have if not for last night. And who know what this little device may save me from in the future! It's worth a look!

I'm also contacting the CPO number KW supplied.

    Thanks again, everybody!

  22. I'll look into the peephole, too, Karenopa!
I'm going over to BF's in a bit to watch the football game. I think I may well be asleep a few minutes after I hit the couch!

Posted 4 years ago by GreatDane #

  23. I think I would've called the police, too. In this day and age, you just can't be careful enough.

Well, guys, I think I have found a new career! I stopped to buy my nephew a few Texas lottery scratch-offs and decided to buy 5 of them for myself. Guess what? I won $70.00 on the first two! I NEVER buy these, but if I can make $70.00 in about 3 minutes, I know a good thing when I see it! I guess I'll start filling out my retirement papers tomorrow. . .

Posted 4 years ago by FondaHonda #

  24. GD...Pleasant Dreams Sweetie!!

Posted 4 years ago by Karenopa #

  25. FH..Oh My...Lottery Tickets are too fickle to retire just yet...but congratulations missy..your lucky day!!

Posted 4 years ago by Karenopa #

  26. Excellent idea, FH! Let me know if you decide to expand the business and need help scratching!

Posted 4 years ago by GreatDane #

  27. I forgot to mention that I bought $20.00 worth of more scratch-offs (maybe I'd better copy down that 1-800 number for gambling addictions!).
