Molly The Cat's Final Journey.............

(60 posts)
  1. Amy, I am so sorry to hear this. I understand as I just went through this with Gizmo....it is the hardest part of being a pet owner, making that decision when to let go. I am praying for your Mom, that she will feel peace and comfort and be willing to open her heart to another older cat, at some point. There are so many out there that need someone to love them. And I pray for poor Molly the cat, that she can hang on for awhile yet and that when it is her time to go, that her crossing will be a peaceful one. Think of all the wonderful memories you have had for the past 19 years. Sending HUGS to you and your Mom and to Molly, too!

  2. The problem with Indy sounds like it's in the nerve functioning; that wouldn't show up on assessments of physical structures. I don't know how it is diagnosed, but I hope someone does find an answer.

I never knew that Molly had such a horrible start in life; that makes the love and care that you and your mom have given her even more special. I wish both of them peace during their final time together, and that they comfort each other with their love.

  3. Aww, MC you are in my thoughts. Special prayers going out to Molly the cat and your mom at this time. May heaven's hands hold & comfort them until the Bridge welcomes Molly home. Sending prayers and healing blessing for Indy and your sister.

  4. You are in my thoughts, sweetie. I am so sorry about Molly!!! How fortunate she has been to be loved for so long after such a rough start in life. I pray for you, your mom, Molly, your sister, and Indy. Peace and comfort to you all.

  5. Prayers for Molly and your mom, Indy and your sister and for you too! Indy's problem sounds like a pinched nerve. If your sister knows a chiropractor, he or she might be able to recommend someone who does animal adjustments or animal massage.

  6. Amy, I'm also sending prayers to your sis and her Indy! What about a vet school she could take him to?? Surely, SOMEONE can find what the problem is!

  7. Prayers for a peaceful ending for Molly and your Mom. I hope she can consider an oldster when she is ready. There are so many. It is never easy to lose one of our furry clan, especially after so many years. It's been 18 months and I still miss our Sam.

Also, special prayers for your sister and her Indy so that someone can diagnose this most puzzling problem.

  8. The Wolf's head rests on his dark paws and his eyes are closed, although he is wide awake. Gizmo and Kizzy sleep curled up next to him, and Jasper has finally settled down for his much-needed afternoon nap.

But the Wolf is always awake.

Warmed by the sun, the soft wind carries the scent of the grasses in the Meadow. A few lazy bees move among the ragged wildflowers, their buzzing a quiet counterpoint to the soft breath of the Wolf's sleeping friends.

He thinks of Molly, and the Wolf smiles -- it will bring her such joy to be here -- the Kitten Pack can show her the Brook -- Norman will have a beautiful new friend -- racing with Redmond and Salem will bring her so much delight.

And in his mind's eye, the Wolf knows how much Molly will love the cool glittering Christmas snow, the radiant Easter eggs, the sweet breezes that will ruffle Molly's soft fur.

Every sad memory, every pain and sorrow that sweet Molly felt in life will vanish when she awakens in the Meadow. Here, she will wait for her mama who will come for her, in good time. And in the Meadow, all time is good.

He sighs. Molly will carry all the love she was given in her old life to the new life in the Meadow. That good little cat will know so much bliss...

    The Wolf smiles to himself.

"There is so much happiness waiting for her," and he lifts his head, watching over the others as they sleep in the warm afternoon, waiting for their new friend.

  11. I am so sorry about Molly. Take comfort that you and your Mom gave her a good long life which she wouldn't have otherwise had. Your mom is not too old to have an adult cat if there are provisions for the cat's care when she passes. There are so many older cats who nobody wants that have plenty of love to give.

  15. I cried Emma! It was so beautiful! Molly did not have a good day yesterday. My mom said she was throwing up and lost control of her bowels when they were outside on her screened in porch. Praying that Molly isn't too sick and will let my mom know if it is time. Thanks for all your wonderful support!

  19. I called and checked on Molly, again a bad day. My mom says its cause the man who lives in the house behind her was beating his dog! I nearly went thru the phone. I told her to HANG UP and call ANIMAL CONTROL ASAP! I was sorry he upset Molly but I was more upset for the dog! She never called back so I hope she followed thru. She said Molly's eyes were as big as saucers and she did that whole puff up the tail and arch the back thing. I hope it didn't bring back bad memories from her "kittenhood".
