Hi all! I found this site while trying to Google some answers and decided to give it a go here.
I just got a 7 week old kitten yesterday. She seems very good and has adjusted well to me. But when I leave the room to go get something or do laundry and come back in she starts meowing. Could this be because she misses me or something else?
I'm always so worried when she meows because I think something is wrong. I just cant seem to be able to figure out if her meowing is good or if something is wrong? Am I just a new mom that is a little too much of a worry wort?

yes, she misses you. she is used to having mommy cat and all her brothers and sisters around. lots of things you can do. get her a beanie baby sized stuffed animal for her to love, put one of your used shirts where she sleeps. you can also make a sling and carry her around with you. she needs time to adjust to a whole new home and to you. and of course, you could also get another kitty about her age as a playmate. another kitty is not that much more expensive. the biggest fees in her life will be spaying and her sets of shots. then after that, all you have is food and litter, which for an adult cat, runs about $10 per cat per month.
remember that 2 kitties are 3 times the fun !!!
