I hope and pray there isn't another Cafe opened. IF there is, please close up this one. I looked but didn't see one. Its a stormy nasty day here. Prayers for our family in the middle of the country (me included. IA, IL, IN, MI and WI) who all got slammed with storms last night. Today we are to get round two and the east coast is getting what came thru last night. There is a full buffet of meats, cheeses, sides, salads, cereals, eggs, breads, yogurts and desserts. Fresh fruit is sitting alongside the chocolate fountain. Champagne is flowing, wine is being poured and sodas/juices are available. For your entainment the French Open will be on the large screen TVs.

Morning MC :) Seems that the country is being hit with all kinds of crazy weather lately, hope that there is a minimum of damage.

A lovely tall glass of champagne, with a shot or two of apricot nectar, sounds just delightful! And a buttered, toasted bagel covered with so many sesame seeds that you can hardly see the bagel.
Much more yard work today! It will be a little cooler and a lot less humid. Mowing, planting, and weeding, weeding, weeding... it never ends! The sprinkler is going right now, to loosen soil for weeding.
Yesterday Glenn and I had dinner with old friends, and it was 3 hours of delight! Also, my brother, his wife, and their four children earlier stopped by for a quick bite as they were driving through town. It's been about 6 months since we've visited, and it was the first time they'd visited us. The kids had great fun meeting the parrots, looking at the saltwater tank, romping around the yard, and meeting as many of the kitties as were brave enough to show their faces.
But they especially loved Rex! He was quite the star, in their eyes. Best little dog in a cat suit Glenn could ever have rescued! He let himself be picked up in all kinds of manners, petted, and only meowed and purred for more. What a great kitty!
Well, gotta run; I'm burning daylight, you know!

Morning, all.
Just got back from a grocery run and it's not nearly as hot out as I expected. Guess I should try to get the rest of my errands done this morning.
Mr. K is making pepper and egg sandwiches for lunch and I can't wait. Scrambled eggs and Italian fried peppers on a roll, yum. He's Irish but he grew up in an Italian neighborhood, so he's an expert on good Italian food. Me, I just eat what he makes :)
Deb, I hope the rest of your day goes quickly and quietly so you can get home to the crew and some sleep.
Ann, Rex sounds like a winner! Hooray for Glenn for rescuing him.

Kilroy, enjoy your breakfast and the rest of your day :)

Good morning, Everyone! It reached 111 here yesterday :-( Today is going to be a bit better with highs around 105. Tomorrow I'll have to get my sweaters back out because it's only supposed to be around 98. Is it hot in AZ, Deb?
Mr. WWM and I are going to try and work on our vacation pictures today. At least it's an indoor activity!
I'm off to make pancakes. See y'all later!

WWM, morning! Yep it was only 103 or 104F yesterday, @ 5 a.m. it was already 88F this morning. So are you turning on the heat, how will you survive with it being only 98F?

Sorry, been busy in the basement working on laundry and working out. Want to get the laundry done before the next band of storms comes thru. We lost power last night and I am afraid it will happen again. Its funny, I could go outside and blow on the pole and the power would go out! Its not very good.

Good morning! I could go for a glass of champagne and some fresh fruit. We're getting the weather the midwest got sometime later today; it is starting to cloud up and getting pretty breezy. Pulled a lot of weeds yesterday, sprayed some poison ivy and I sure hope I don't get any more. Leela makes me forget the itchies by attacking my ankles when I go up the stairs and going after my hand, not the ball when we play!

Oh yeah, cleaned up bear poo in my backyard yesterday too, ick!

Oh my goodness Joan, I will pray for you and the other east coast family. Those storms are really quite severe and come on fast. There is lots of lightning and heavy downpours. Make sure Leela is close by, I know my girls were very scared. Of course tornado sirens don't do much for me but for their little ears its really bad! I just found a puddle of water in the corner of the basement and turned on the dehumidifier, another thing the girls hate.

EW, Joan, ick. Hope your itchies clear up soon.
I ran out to do more errands (why is nothing open until noon on Sundays?) and it's gotten much warmer in just the past hour. Also windy.
Whoops, Mr. K just called and is almost home. Time to go hit the button on the coffeemaker. Have a good Sunday, all.

Home now, going to make a garlic bagel with cream cheese and a nice slice of tomato on it before heading off to bed. Will be back later, everyone enjoy your day :)

Hi all! Hope everyone stays safe in the crazy weather!
Here it is just hot (around 90) and humid as usual - not nice, especially when the a/c doesn't work in the car!
Spent a few hours at XBF's watching the men's final of the French Open. Not the outcome I had hoped for :(
I also had two cups of coffee. It must have been really strong, because I'm feeling shaky now. I actually just drank a cup of sleepytime tea to maybe hopefully counteract the coffee a bit. -
Here it's been very humid today, but it's fresher now there's been a downpour. Temperature has been around 70 - 75 all day, quite pleasant apart from the humidity.

Ann Rex sounds like a joy!
Joan--bear poo? Did you get to see the bear--I love bears! Don't know that I would want to clean up their poo, but probably similiar to having to clean the yard daily with 3 dogs. Have you tried the Benedryl spray? It sure works for me--helps make my itchy feel numb!
May the rain be a blessing to a parched Earth and not to abundant. May all stay safe from the storms.
PM your weather sounds perfect.
And thank you for the shot--it sure helped make my day complete.

Afternoon/Evening all!.... had a BUSY day, had lunch with MIL so she could visit with Son - then came home and cleaned (morphed into Hazel)....unpacked boxes that were stored until further use.... washed a ton of loads of laundry - remade 4 bedrooms, and washed all their bath linens.... mopped, unpacked, stored... aaarrrgghhh!!... can anyone say "pooped"!!
-
"Pooped"-LOL! Sorry AV, had to do it. Trying to figure out what to have for dinner, taking suggestions please and thank you!

AV took your advice and am spending quality time teaching the little girl to cook--she needs her own personal chef! Cooking is not her forte! She is marinating chicken, she chopped vegetables for a salad, and she shucked corn. I think we are in for a treat tonight. She is now shucking pecans to make a pecan cake with butter cream frosting! In the end I have to hope she is ready to leave home--at least she can cook chicken and toss a salad!
Glad your MIL got to spend time with your son before he has to leave. By the way I have packing boxes here....
-
LOL! (pooped is a vicarious word!)
... SM!... I'll take those packing boxes anytime!... seems I'm always unpacking something, and then repacking something!... I absolutely LOVED it when Daughter wanted to FINALLY learn to cook!.. (happy dance, happy dance)... since she is moving to a one bedroom apt. for the next year, she will LOVE living by herself, and will be able to keep things exactly like she likes, with no one eating her food, or using her stuff!... that being said, I've so far, completely furnished her apt. including kitchen, dishes, etc, so she has everything she needs, and is excited about learning to cook "my" food which is clean and healthy!... (don't I love it!).....
... I just know your daughter will love learning from you... you are a great Mom, connected and in touch with her daughter, and she will love learning from you!!.... I have truly found the hardest part about letting them go , is welll, LETTING THEM GO!!!... LOL... enjoy this summer with her (what little of it you have).... stay involved with the "moves, more moves and yes, more moves"! LOL.... and just be who you are!.... obviously you guys have a great relationship, and tho (as a Mom) it will always tug at your heart strings, the bonds go deep!... she will always be your baby, young woman and best friend!...
(((huggs))) SM, my friend!

I always thought I was a decent cook--hubby wanted pizza shortly after we got married. I thought--okay how had can it be? Pizza Hut soon became my friend--it was awful!! I have learned to cook what I know and leave the rest to professionals! Dad makes a killer pizza, but it sure isn't like anything anyone would call normal pizza. More of a grilled flatbread with sauce, veggies, and cheese. I tried to do the same thing--not so good! I figure she will be able to make anything she sets her mind to--but I have to say cooking isn't something she likes right now--too many other priorities!
