  1. So my fiance and i adopted a 9 week old kitten from an elderly couple that took in a stray over the winter... stray had kittens and we took the runt of the litter... :) he was thinner than the rest of the litter and was a little smaller....

Well over the past 3 days he has gotten a little belly and is drinking kitten formula and water and had half a bowl of dry food... tonight i'm trying wet food... So i'm thinking since he attacks the milk and water that his brothers and sisters pushed him away from the food and now he has it all to him self...

BUT he still likes his milk and 'meewwss' for it ALL THE TIME! drinks water and berly will nibble on his dry food...
i'm trying to get him to switch over and eat the dry food and wheen him off the formula.... someone suggested sprinkling the formula power on his dry food...did it and he berly touched it.

it seems like he really doesnt have an attraction to it... i see no results.

the only time he really ate the dry food was when he ran out of formula in his bowl and i was at work.. so he was forced to eat some dry (which finally made him poop but it has been soft since)

    any advice?

  3. I'm no expert but I think nine weeks he is too old for formula and should be on only kitten food. Wet is better for cats anyway, so see if he will eat wet kitten food. He will not starve- he will eat if he is hungry. He may just prefer wet and even that he will have to adjust to since he is still loving formula. You can still leave some dry out too to see if he will eat it. Good luck!

  4. I wouldn't feed any dry food...ever. It is much better to feed all wet food.

Here are two sites regarding food:

  5. mmm. As far as the accidents, made sure you are cleaning the spots he's making so he doesn't think it's a good idea to pee on your bed. Also, made sure the litter box is easily accessible and close to where he goes in the house. You may need to put in more than one litter box. '

Also, make sure he doesn't have a UTI or other problem. Take him to the vet to get him check out and dewormed and started on shots.
