  5. Jess told us a little information about herself last night. She will be in 7th grade next year--WHHOOOOO---HHHOOOO--my absolute favorite age!!! She is very gifted in math! FH was thrilled! She said teachers learn from students, so I think I might be able to learn a math thing or two from her!

    Jess you are doing great with your little one--especially in light of his health issues. I say start the Conga line--Jess and Sammy can lead!

  15. If I remember right (casting back to the Dark Ages here), 7th grade is about 13 years old; no idea what form that would be in UK-speak.

  20. In my day it was known as Second Year in senior school. I'm not quite sure what it's called now, I don't have any children so I'm a bit out of touch! We could do with Polly's Mum, she's a teacher, she'd know!

  21. haha ok i might try her sometime itll be cool to be able to know wat its called... and 6th 7th and 8th are all considered to be in middle school 9-12 is high schools and 1-5 is in elementary there is 4 and 5 year old kindergarten also!

  22. Well we call kindergarten nursery school or pre-school - that much I know!

    So you're good at maths are you? My least favourite subject at school! Never could get the hang of long division... ;o)

  30. Hi Jess! I've been wanting to jump in here and join the conga line all day and congratulate you and Sammy - he's soooo adorable!.
    Oh, and I work in a central office that's housed in a middle school. I've worked in a high school and an elementary school, but the middle school is awesome. I was at a board meeting the other night and 2 eighth graders who have been going to meetings all year to tell the board what the middle school student body is up to told the board that they are going to miss middle school big time!
