Last night I was doing some major bushwhacking trying to help my friend, LL find her lost dog, Bella. I was tramping through some deep bramble looking for signs of animal trails, etc. The lady I was searching that particular area with, found two dead kittens and called out to me. When I made my way over to where she was, I saw a stand of bramble that I thought might be a good hiding place for Bella. As soon as I stepped close, I started to hear hysterical mewing of first one and then two kittens. I parted the blackberry canes and there was a beautiful white kitten at my feet with his tabby brother close behind. The white one is actually going to end up being flame pointed. He is just too little for his colors to have developed except at the edges.
First stop was Petsmart for some KMR, a bottle and a box. Next stop the guest bathroom for a bath and a thorough dry then it was noms time.
I have named them Dustin and Jonathan for Dustin Byfuglien and Jonathan Toews of the Stanley Cup winning, Chicago Blackhawks.
Last night I was up feeding them every two hours and they couldn't see to stay satisfied for long. (There were poops and pees!)
This morning on the way to the office...with kitties in tow, I stopped and got them some kitten food to mix with water or KMR for them to nom. It seems to be doing the trick. They are sacked out now all cuddled together.
I estimate that they are 3-4 weeks old and will be looking for a good home that will take them both.
