After the devastation of the storms that blew thru the middle of the country yesterday, the kitties have to pick up limbs and debris outside the cafe today. They are dressed in overalls and boots with gloves and trash bags. Inside they are cleaning up too, serving all the leftovers from the week's cafe's. They can start fresh on Sunday. YAY! Power just back after about 14 hours off. Me and the girls hanging out and Betty is very upset and crying.

JCAT I am snuggling her. She is so scared and sticking to me like Velcro. IF I stop stroking her she starts crying again. Poor little wee Betty. :(

Ohmigosh, poor, poor baby. She must have had a terrible time, MC. You would think she would be used to those big storms you get in your neck of the woods by now but I'm guessing this one was particularly bad. Were you and Wilma scared too? You never sound worried in your posts but I don't think I would handle it well, especially without power.

scritches to Betty, Abby is terrified of bad weather too!..... I've mentione before she was a hurricane rescue baby - found during the Charlie, Francis, Ivan canes a few years back......
..... Mr. AV and Son have been working diligently on the Koi pond out back.... they have the huge hole dug, and are now off at home depot gathering the lining materials and other stuff (I'm scared to see what all they get)..... both of them have the tendency to 'overdo' things, so I won't be surprized if my tiny little back yard becomes one giant koi pond!... LOL
.... I'm watching TV right now and the news is doing a special on the new Harry Potter section at Universal studios.... people are drinking butter beer - they say it's a soda like drink that tastes like butterscotch!.... sounds different!

.... Mr. AV and Son have returned; it's been 20 minutes and they're still unloading the truck! ...... I've having visions of a koi pond with flashing lights, colored spot lights and dancing fountains...... I'm thinking it could be come a neighborhood attraction (oh dear!)

Jane, only said I would do overtime because we are very short personnel. Not getting up much though tonight, my foot still swells up when I walk too much on it. Hope that you have a good night's sleep and scritches to Jasper and Libs in the morning.

Good Morning MC, JCat, AV, and Deb. MC after our storm we had over 3500 claims for cars and 2000 housing claims. It has been busy here with the insurance claims. Mr. SM didn't put a claim in for the skylight--he just replaced it. He did look at my car and Mini SM's car--he noticed that mine--which is only a year old will have to go in. I took it to the dealer yesterday. They will do the work the last week in June after I get back. These storms bite.
Deb I am on my way to Arizona at the end of July. Would love to gather folks for a meet if anyone is available. Hoping monsoon season is over by then, but I am bringing Mini SM and it seems any trip she is on has amazingly great weather!

Oh, Deb, I'm so sorry, I thought your foot was a bit better but sounds like it is still giving you a lot of pain. Grrr, as MS would say, I think you might need to give it a good long rest (without the Crew sleeping on it to 'make it better').

Soxsmom, no not sure it isn't a fracture, it is really tender right behind the bone on the outside of the ankle. If it still is swelling up thru the weekend, will go to Urgent Care on Monday. I have never broken anything so have no idea what a fracture feels like.

I had a few bones broken in my foot--horse stepped on me. I had it bandaged and was walking 24 hours later--found out I had 3 broken toes and 2 bones in my foot broken about a week later--after camp! Deb you may want to get an xray. And then tell the crew they have to snuggle around you--but not your ankle! You know they are trying to purr heal your ankle!

I have been keeping ice on it, no x-rays because I haven't been to the doctor's about it yet.
