  1. My lady has gone to the meadow at 5:30 pm est. I knew something was wrong, she has a large mass in the intestional area and I chose to let her go. My heart is breaking.

Emma, may I have a story please, when you have time. She was a orange tabby in my avatar.

Sweet dreams baby girl. May the angels watch over you til we meet again.

  3. {{{Lynn & Lady}}} she knew such love that it will inspire tales to be told in the Meadow while she is waiting for you. You didn't want her to suffer my friend and helped her, the Wolf will surely watch over her.

  10. The pretty orange tabby crouches between Redford and Gizmo, all three watching the clouds over the Meadow.

"Now, that one looks like a flower," whispers Redford.

"Umm, that one reminds me of a mousie toy." Gizmo looks again. "Or maybe two mousie toys."

Lady giggles. "Amazing. It's a cat bed, you sillies!"

The Wolf walks behind the trio, lying in the grass to watch the three friends.

Lady turns, an orange ripple against the green grass.

"Wolf," she asks, "what do you think that cloud looks like?"

The great creature smiles. "To me it looks like three new friends, Lady."

Lady walks to the Wolf, curling next to him, and she sighs.

"Happy?" he asks her. Lady rests her small head against his rough shoulder and sighs. Nothing hurts Lady any more, and the Meadow is full of delights and surprises. She is so happy right now that she is almost breathless.

"The only thing I could ever want is my mama, and I know I will see her again." Her smile is radiant and trusting.

The scent of the long grasses, warmed by the sun, moves over the four companions. Redford lifts his head.

"Listen!" he says, as the wind brings the sound of the Brook, the rustle of leaves to them. The soughing of the pines at the edge of the Meadow is peaceful.

The four watch the clouds mounding in the blue sky, and birdsong rings throughout the Meadow.

Gizmo looks over at Lady. "I am so glad you're here!"

    And Redford nods happily.

    "We've been waiting for you!"

Lady is happy, warm, loved. And she and Gizmo and Redford rest next to the great Wolf.

    All is well.

  14. So sorry Lynn. It's always so difficult even when we know it's coming. I fear it won't be long before my dear Molly will be joining Lady. She is declining rather quickly. Beautiful Emma.

  21. Oh Mama Lynn I am so sorry. I'm crying here knowing the empty place in your heart and soul for your girl. I'm sure my Jetta is welcoming her and setting up the "refined older ladies (and gentelmen!) club to help Mama Kitty take care of the little ones who arrive. Bless you my dear friend. Emma - yes, beautiful.

  25. Dear Mama Lynn. Blessings on you for choosing to let your heart break rather than let Lady suffer. I know that all our furrbabies in the Meadow greet each newcomer with purrs and headbonks. And that they wait in peace and love til we meet them again. Hugs and prayers.

  27. I thank you all for your warm thoughts and words of comfort. They suround me in a comfortable blanket of love from my friends.

Emma, once again, you have outdone yourself. Will you please write the book?

Lady's passing was not easy. Due to the dehidration, her veins were hard to find. It had been going on longer than I realized. My vet, Dr. Jeanne, when she examined her, I saw her flinch, and knew something was wrong. She could have gone the route of tests, medicine, surgery. She knew when I emailed her and said bring everything, I knew. Lady looked at me last night with that look that I had seen in previous cats I've had, I knew something was wrong and it was time. My vet comes to my home, thank god for that, and doesn't soak you for things that are not necessary.

Lucky, her brother, watched from the hallway. He watched 2 previous cats I had, at 16 and 18 years go to the bridge. He knew. He has wandered the house looking in rooms for her. He has laid in her space. He has laid in my spot on the couch. He headbonked me tonight, not something he does. I see a sad look in his eyes. Dr. Jeanne said he is not far behind. I feel she is right. He has hyperthyroid and is on meds for it. But this could be the last straw. Time will tell.

I am broken right now, can't stop crying. Worried if Lucky can survive this. I thank you for all your thoughts and prayers and appreciate more than you know, the love and support you have shown me.

    With much Love, Mama Lynn

  28. The little old grey cat slips through the wormhole and goes over to Lynn. She's not usually one to meet people, but her mama told her that Lynn had a Lady too, and is missing her tonight. Carefully she settles next to Lynn and purrs, knowing she's not Lynn's Lady, but willing to get her fur a little salty and wet if it will help.

    (((Lynn))) I'm so sorry.
