He is one energetic and humorous individual. If I tried to describe the service yesterday, the post would be about a foot long. The important thing, though, is something he shares in common with RFP. Even though they have very different personalities, they both "mean it": they mean what they're doing. The ministry isn't just their job, it's their calling. They're dedicated to their faith, our church, the people in it, and those in the community.
I know we've been "in transition" for two years, but the transition was accomplished for me on Friday evening at the closing program for Vacation Church School. (I helped prepare for VCS this year.) Quinn was there, wearing his VCS t-shirt. RFP and his wife came to the program because their custodial granddaughter was in it, and I saw Quinn and RFP talking and laughing together. It was kind of like seeing the torch passed.
There's a church council meeting tonight. It will be interesting to see what comes out of that.
