  1. Socks..... they didn't even offer us socks....... grrrrr........

We are doing a ride in Hobbs, NM tomorrow that's a benefit for the college there. I can't say that I'm excited because we have to get up at 0-Dark-Thirty to make the 2 hour drive. And it's only a 45 miles ride! But there is lunch and a tee-shirt.

Then Sunday our bike club here is hosting the First Annual Livestrong Ride. One of our members was recently diagnosed with cancer and this is a way to raise some funds to help him. It's 40 miles and afterwards there's barbecue made by a woman who was on that show Pit Masters.

Hopefully we'll have good weather and tailwinds for both!

You have to get clips, GD. If you're going to do these long rides you really need them. And if you ride anywhere where you have to climb you definitely need them!

  2. No socks? They're nice ones, too :)
They had a few weeks of raffles for people who made certain goals during those weeks - we both got socks. There were even a couple of people who won free hotel accomodations in Daytona from Saturday to Sunday!

I'm going to do the Halloween ride I posted about a few weeks back - and I get a t-shirt, too - hopefully, unlike the t-shirt we got at MS (please tell me you at least got a t-shirt!) which went to my knees, this one will actually fit! I love t-shirts from different events :)

    No clips, WWM!!!
Right now I'm in need of new tires for my Jeep so I've been riding to and from work on the bike. There's no way I'd do clips in that kind of insane traffic - that would be suicidal!

  3. STOP IT!!!!!! I raised over $1200 dollars and I don't get a stinkin' pair of socks???? ACK!!!!!! And I don't have my jersey and shorts yet??? Double ACK!!!!! But, *deep breath* that's not what it's all about. I gave my medal that they gave us at the finish line to my friend Ray who has MS. His wife said that it made him cry. I guess that's what it's all about.

Still....*sulking* I sure would like to have my jersey and shorts.......

Clips? Gotta have them, GD. It's what separates the men from the boys.....
