  3. When I had a set of RevereWare copper bottom cookware, a hundred years ago, I always cleaned the copper bottom with a solution of salt and vinegar. Must say I had the "sparkliest" bottoms in town!!!! Sorry I got rid of the cookware, as I have found nothing better.

  4. Mmm, somehow I think WWM would find a 'better' alternative than salt for each of those . . .

  9. I want a salt bagel now.

BTW, the salt massage feels great! If you make a paste with water or oil and regular, fine-grained table salt and use it is a body scrub, it feels FANTASTIC!

  10. Lots more good uses for salt. I clean my coffee pot with salt and it really makes it clean. I am going to print these out and tape them inside my kitchen cabinet door. Good find 12Pawz!

  11. If you scroll down the page they have links to Smart Uses for Vinegar, Baking Soda and Beer. I haven't read them thoroughly but they look like they also have lots of terrific ideas.

  12. I checked out the 'uses for beer' and there is a great looking recipe for Sweet and Spicy Guinness Quick Bread. Have printed it off and homemade bread Queen Airy will make it sometime soon to have with a yummy warming beef casserole.
12Pawz, I too have 'sparkliest bottoms' in town, when I remember to do them. I use salt and lemon juice though.

  15. Salt is also great for cleaning wooden cutting boards. Moisten cutting board and scrub with a liberal amount of salt. Rinse well and dry. Salt kills any bacteria that may be in the scratches on the board.
