  1. At least I hope this is the last time I bother you on this subject. But I spent a good deal of time over the holiday snapping pictures of my Blackbeard with the idea a resubmitting him for consideration for the Daily Kitten..and honor which I believe is fitting for him..Anyway, my question is...What pic format is best for you? bmp, jpg, pdf? and is there a prefered image size? I have tried to snap some better quality photos (not easy with a moving subject) in hopes they are more suitable for posting...

    Thank you!!!

  2. Okay..just thought of one more question...(sorry)..Could we submit more than one pic for you to choose from? Thus increasing my chances...Please....

  3. Since the Kittenmaster appears to be busy, I will take a stab at the answer for you. All the photos he's posted are in JPG format so I would stick with that.

    Beyond that, no idea :)

  5. Ditto Instinct...you're always very helpful I've noticed. A virtue that many cannot be bothered with.

  7. Just being what I am Karenopa :)

My sensei told me quite often that "Knowledge is a gift that is meant to be shared. You began knowing nothing and someone taught you, now you have an obligation to pass that knowledge on."

I would also suggest to remember the 'rule of thirds' with your photos. I could explain, but it's already done for me here so I'll just direct you to the link :)

I will usually get my shot and then use editing software to correct and crop if I think it needs it.

  8. Jpgs are fine - most cameras use this as the default file format anyhow, so you shouldn't have to do any tinkering. I wouldn't worry to much about the rule of thirds, though - while it's great advice for composing shots in general, I'm not interested in showing snaps that are compositionally correct, just pictures that demonstrate the cuteness of the subject matter, and most of the time the kitten is in the middle of the frame. Size doesn't really matter, although anything below 400 pixels in width will generally be rejected out of hand. You can submit as many pictures as you like, although I'd rather you just chose your favourite, as it probably will be the best choice.

The most important thing is that the shot should be in focus and reasonably well-lit - you'd be amazed at how many aren't (it's the vast majority).

  9. Thank you Kittenmaster, I have 2 or 3 which I can not decide between. I'll look at them 1 more time, but will probably leave the choice to you if you don't mind..I am one of those kitty moms, you know the kind, every picture is a great picture. Maybe I'll have a co-worker take a look first and help narrow it down. Thank you again!

Emma, Thank you, and yes sometimes I even call him Capt. Jack when I catch him taking something that doesn't belong to him. LOL
