  1. I give this family credit. I know I could never do this.

  2. Wow that is amazing! I wonder how many miles they log a day on their bikes. I would have to think long and hard about not needing a car. I could possibly do it and say a bundle of money and lose weight too. Something to think about.

  5. When I had a car I thought I'd never be able to survive without one. Now it's been years since I had one and I'm one happy camper. I don't relish the idea of $500 going out of my check every month ($500 is alot of money to me) for the rest of my life (as soon as you pay for a car you have to get another because inevitably the one that's paid for goes down the tubes) I can get where ever I need to go whenever I need to go there. There's plenty of options. Plus the traffic here just doesn't mix well with my normal frame of mind - which is to kill every stupid person I see. Of course, if I followed through with that on the road - the traffic would be nearly non-existent.

  6. HM, I use to have that situation. Back in 1999, I lived in a nice two room studio located in a town called San Anselmo, CA. I could walk to everything..a really gourmet grocery store, lots of neat boutiques, and restaurants that were really good. If I walked out my door and crossed the street, I could catch the bus to and from work. I didn't really need my car accept to go visit my parents. I could have sold my car and rented one when I needed it. Unfortunately I had a jerk of a landlord who didn't care about his tenants or his property. Plus, I had a neighbor move in upstairs who had never rented before and didn't understand why I got upset when she would have friends over till 1 am and I had to be up at 4:30am to be at work by 6 am. I miss that place but do not miss the landlord.
