I can't take Lady with me

  1. I take it back. The cab fare would be about $65.00. That's as much as her plane fare would be!

  3. i wouldn't put her in a cab by herself and have the cabbie (who you don't know) be trusted to take her to the boarding place.

    i would however accompany her to the boarding place in the cab (also cabbies are very picky about pets in their cab),,,

  4. Bella, don't even think about giving up Lady. As Cheri and MCW and the others have said, this is TDK. This is just a problem to be solved but we will do it.

  5. UK contribution so far (me + one other) would be approx $75. I reckon with USA TDKers pledges you could at least double this. I understand you might feel uncomfortable about accepting financial help, but as I've just posted on your FB page, you can pay this forward sometime in the future. We can make this work. Promise.

  8. OK, just read thru entire thread and see where this is going. I will be happy to help out financially toward Lady's flight and boarding. Since you have someone near you in Boston to take her, I think that's a better option than leaving her with me since you could at least visit her and that will make her happy. If she was here she would have to try to get along with 11 cats and a loud teenager, which may be stressful and a huge agjustment for the old girl. And then we would have to figure out how to get her from Georgia to Boston once you were settled anyway? So, I think she should fly now and we all chip in on herr financial needs to keep her near you. If all of that falls thru and there is no other way, she will stay here. Giving her up is out of the question so put that entirely out of your head.

  9. Bella where are you moving from? Are you driving? I live near Hartford, CT which is only about 2 hours from Boston if you need help for a few days. I'd be glad to take her in temporarily. Will you be passing by at all? Let me know if there is anything I can do to help

  16. I'll be happy with $80.00. the fare calculator I used says fare from Logan to my friend's SIL's house would be about $65.00; I want to make sure I have enought.
