  1. I just got my 4 month old kitten neutered yesterday. When I reveived him back from the vet he was a little out of if from the medication; trembling, dilated pupils, and seemed disoriented as he peed on me while in bed and has never done this before. Today he's been acting more timid almost as if he is scared of me. He's not responding to play time with his favorite toy with me, he'll look at it, seemingly roll his eyes, and walk away. However, he will play with with his toys alone or try to attack my hand. His behavior has had a radical change and he seems much more distant. I am almost regretting getting him neutered.

  2. I assure you he will return to his loving self in a day or two when that vet smell wears off...

  3. Hi BM, welcome to TDK. I can't remember any of my cats reacting this way to a neutering operation, maybe he's had an adverse reaction to the anaesthetic? If I were you I'd phone the vet and see what they say. Let us know how you get on.

  9. Yes!!! I'm technically incompetant, but this one I know- you just need to cut and paste the URL for your cstster page into your profile here on TDK.

  13. Oh he's so gorgeous!! I'm kind of shocked the woman at the supermarket was using such blatant emotional blackmail to home the kittens, but maybe she was desperate...anyway, it brought Bonzai into your life, so it's a happy ending!!

What's your bird's name? You're brave letting them play together, probably won't be able to do that for much longer!

  14. Thank you :)
And yes I am very thankful for Bonzai coming into my life. He's a great kitty. I also believe the woman was desperate as you say because she wasn't just giving away 1 litter of kittens, but 2!
Birdies name is Cheech (He's a Mexican Quaker). I actually gave him away 2 weeks ago to my friends mother who already has another parrot. He was pretty lonely and Bonzai would often look at him as dinner :P so now he's in good company with the other parrot and doesn't get bored as baby Bonzai was receiving all the attention.

  19. You should submit a picture to Kittenmaster(info is on the main page). I thought the fourth one down on your Catster page was so cute.

  25. Actually, the picture just above the "stand off", was the one I was referring to........the close up of Bonzai on the quilt/towel. I'm sure it would get selected.

  27. Your little guy might still be under the influence of the anesthesia. It can take up to 24-36 hours to gt completely through his system.

He is absolutely adorable - I'm a real sucker for spots on the tummy.

  30. Thank you all for the advice, compliments, and warm welcomes. Truly appreciated :)
I am happy to report that Bonzai is coming to his normal self. Later last evening he was much more playful with me and responding to his fishing pole toy. He was also much more rambunctious, testing his limits on how high he can jump! His curiosity with jumping around has just recently started about a week or two ago, but he's really testing his limits now, jumping into my hamper that's about 3ft tall or onto the second shelf of my desk that may be about 3-4ft in height. I had no idea that he could jump so high and post-op instructions advise against jumping, but there's just no stopping him! Sometimes I think he's becoming crazier as time progresses!? He's a peculiar little fur ball at times. Also, he's not licking the incision site so hopefully the whole thing is all a blur to him.

I am curious...what are your opinions on the litter kwitter toilet training system? I bought one a few weeks ago started on the floor in the bathroom with the red disc, moved it on to the toilet, went to the amber (no luck), went back to red on toilet, and now after the surgery since there is no jumping allowed and I want the least amount of stress for him, we are back on the floor with red. I'm having second thoughts about this whole thing, I've been reading that it's very stressful on cats as they hold in their poo and pee and instinctually to want to bury. What are your thoughts?
