Hi all, comes and "plops" down on the couch and puts up her paws. May I have a gallon martini please? NOOOOO olives! Can I went a moment? For those of you in healthcare you will already know but those NOT in healthcare we get a yearly inspection by our licensencing board. Well they showed up unexpectedly this past Monday and it has NOT been good. I could tell they were in no mood to joke or chat the minute they walked in. We were rated a "top facility" by the state and nationally by Medicare, BCBS and Humana. They have been looking and finding every possible violation. Luckily my dept and the laundry dept are the only ones who did not get any violations. They were borderline on shutting us down today. OMG. We have the worst director of nursing and we have been trying to tell the owner that she needed to go for the last three years. She lies with such ease that it hurts to watch her do it. She is really two faced and tells him what he wants to hear. He is an airplane pilot and not really healthcare inclined so he believes what she says. Well, her day of reckoning has arrived. SHe was bawling all day long and I must sAy it was a pleasure to see. How can she look at herself in the mirror when one of her nursing aides HIT a patient right in front of the state surveyor? Thank God staff were being fired one by one by one and walked to their cars todaY. We don't know the final tally but it will be bad and we will get massive fines. We were briefed as to what to say to the media and television stations. It hurts me deeply that this is happening because ultimately it is the patients who suffer. I am only glad that things have GOT to look up! Sorry for the vent.

Holy kitty litter clumps, MC! That must have been an awful day. *passes 10 gallon jug of martinis to MC*
I hope that your job is safe in all the upheaval. It's great that your department passed inspection - we know how hard you work to keep things running smoothly and it seems to have paid off for you.Posted 1 year ago by KapitiKats in NZ #

It always sucks telling parents their child is being molested. Sucks more when its daddy doing the molesting. As a counselor I do what I can, but on a personal level I cant imagine what it must be like as a parent hearing news like that. It must be worse than death - losing your childs' innocence and your marriage just like that.

*Martini jugs sliding down bar to AV (no mini ones!)and MC. Taster only to Skyron*.
Wow Skyron - that can't have been pleasant for anyone. I hope your friend and her child will be OK in time and that the abuser gets the appropriate justice. Unfortunately I suspect the whole legal process will have to take its time and prolong the suffering for all involved. Just stick with them and be there for her.Posted 1 year ago by KapitiKats in NZ #

I think the little girl will be ok in time, with the right treatment. She's 3. As for justice, thats going to be a whole new therapy session on its own. They went down to the police station to report this on Monday, they were told that someone will be in contact with them to take their statement. Its Friday, and nothing at all has come of it. They called again yesterday, and the officer on duty wanted to know if they wanted to open a case and press charges. Like why would someone be down at a police station, telling them their child has been raped - to pass the time??? *grabs a large bucket of martini* *does anyone have a straw?*

I think if we're on the martinis we'd better open the Night Shift!
