  2. Hi! Your boys are charming. I am still waiting for a marmie to choose me.

We have an Introductions section for new TDKers, but since you asked: My name is Miu and I share my life with 3 fuzzies. First came Misu. She is a pretty and affectionate calico-tabby. I don't know if there's such a term - well, there's now! :D

She had too much energy and I thought she needed a kitty friend. The fearful leader, a grey tabby called Hipsu, came in to the house. The beginning was a difficult one - he chased and fought and hid and she just wanted to cuddle. Nowadays they are lovers (platonic only). ;)

The house was not full enough. I kept remembering a senior who was looking for a new home after his special human died. - And then there were three, Juuei moved in. He is a lovable easy-going cow cat who enjoys sleeping, sleeping, cuddles and sleeping.

  3. HEY, welcome to the TDK family, sorry my typing is terrible tonight. My name is AZDeb and I share my abode currently with 4 fuzzbutts. First were the brother/sister, Haje & Ms B (aka Beelzebub) who gained entrance into my home because my dau insisted that she wanted a kitten (Haje) some 9.5 yrs ago. Then came two rescues about 5 years ago, Max and Kinker (RIP) whom were elderly cats whose special person couldn't care for them any longer and they were taken to the shelter by the person's children to be adopted or euthanized. They came home with me on their last day, with Kinker being 10 yrs old and Max being 8 years old. When Kinker passed over the bridge in Jan '06, Lil Girl aka Kinkerbelle was a dumpee @ my work place and integrated into my horde. She is about 2.5 yrs old and the terror of the house, everyone needs to play all the time or she is sleeping next to me. Once again welcome to TDK >^..^<

  5. Thanks, hey, you are very nioe. I delivered your greetings to my kits. They said your kitties look very cute and smart. Misu, my silly sentimental girl, wanted to see newer pictures - she has a thing for redheads. ;)

  6. HEY, welcome to TDK, nice to see another member from New Zealand. You are the third that I know of. The other is my sister KapitiKats. I'm Antipodean Moonshadow, my cat is called Moonshadow and I still call "kitty kitty" to get her inside.

  7. Welcome aboard. I only have one fur baby now, but as most of the TDK'ers say, I should train therapy kitties. Maybe when my hubby comes home from his work about 350 miles away from me.

  8. Hey Hey, are you familiar with Catster.com. It is a great site where you can post pictures of your kitties to share and have the link in your profile. Those with Catster accounts or personal webpages are the names that appear in pink.

I am staff to three furbabies. Gracie who is a callie and undisputed ruler of the house, Emma who is a bluepoint siamese mix who is all about the food bowl and Thierry Henry a sealpoint Balinese who is my sweet baby. He is very skittish, but loves his mama, especially at 5 in the morning when the house is quiet and everyone else is asleep. That is when he wants his pets and cuddles.

  9. How funny miu!!! I'm sure Misu would love my two little ones except that moti isnt much of a redhead - well he is, his head part of his back and his bottom and his tail are red otherwise the rest of him is white, while Heera is a red silly guy - who i am sure would love Misu!!

Hey Antipodean Moonshadow & Tigers Mama! Thanks for the reply and its nice to know that theres another kitty lover that uses this site from nz!!! Hows Moon shadow doing??

and last but not least Hey ppearson in KY, thanks for the lovely reply. I'm not familiar with catser but i sure will check it out. Awwww... Gracie, Emma and Thierry Henry sound adorable!! I would love to meet them!

  10. HEY, Moonshadow is having a wonderful time because the birds get a wee bit careless in spring and fly close to the ground, where sneaky cats lurk with their mouths open. I've found several small piles of feathers on the door mat lately. In a few weeks she will be bringing in mice and playing with them in the bath. Do your cats hunt or are they happy lounging at home.

  11. hey moonshadow,

my kitties love hunting too, and because of the weather these days they have gotten a chance to bring in as many mice and birds as possible!! It seriously is getting annoying!! The most annoying thing is that they bring their dead prey inside and they play with it on the carpet!! It drives us insane!!!!

  12. When Moonshadow brings a 'gift' in to me thats I praise her then take the 'gift' outside and tell her to eat it up and praise her again. If the 'gift is a type of bird I don't want her catching I growl her and take the 'gift' away. She seldom catches that type of bird again. Now I just say outside after praising her and she trots off with her trophy. Cats love to show you what they have caught and offer it to you.

  13. Moonshadow - you may recall many years ago when my husband was away overseas that my cat Ninja used to bring me 'gifts' everyday, as if he realised that he was now the male of the household and needed to feed me. I would come home and follow the trail of feathers to the corpse - one time hidden under the dirty laundry in the hamper. Jeff had to talk to him next time he went away to explain that he didn't need to bring me birds and Ninja stopped doing it.

  14. Hey - nice to have another NZer on board - we need to keep track of how many we have. So far I am aware of just the 3 of us - you, me and Moonshadow. Oh and Kittenmaster is also a Kiwi!

  15. I get nervous & regretfully take away any surprises my ferals bring to me,with the bird flu-virus we have in the states here. In the last couple of years, there's been quite a number of deaths due to the virus. So I praise the kitties & give them a treat & while they're eating their treats I throw the present away.

  16. I never knew kittenmaster was a kiwi!!
Whenever my kitties bring in their little 'gifts' one person in the family usually does praise them but that makes them more hypo and that makes them bring more 'gifts' in so that they can get more praise!

  17. I have taught Moonshadow to eat her gift by saying 'eat it up' and making eating sounds. She usually obliges and then asks for some of her ordinary meat to wash it down, we refer to it as a 'meat chaser'. Normally she is feed enough to not bother about hunting but at certain times of the year, when prey is plentiful her natural instincts take over. One year she caught over 200 mice, I was offered every one and many of them were let loose in the house, I have become an expert at hunting mice inside with my trusty furry sidekick beside me.The family that hunts together laughs together.

  18. Cute story, Moonshadow. I have a visual of you and Moonshadow (the cat) hunting inside the house. :-)

  19. Moonshadow,
That is funny. I can just picture it, too.

  20. Haha, I wish my kitties were a little like yours!

Posted 4 years ago by hey #

  21. It really helps if you're not afraid of mice. So far this spring I haven't had a mouse loose in the house, but having said that fate will step in and make a liar out of me. I will keep you posted.
