I often go to a really good meat shop and I think I could ask for some scraps to give to my cats. I would like to at least try them on a semi raw diet if all I manage is a couple raw meals in a week then so be it but with getting a freezer and better at organizing I wanted to try to at least give my cats some raw food.
.
Any suggestions on what meats to try? I know that fish is no use to cats but this meat shop dosn't carry fish anyways. just land animals and poultry.

Chey, my two LOOOOVE chicken livers, they come in a little pot in our supermarkets in the meat aisle and they are very easy for kitties to deal with, they just hoover them up! My two will also eat gravy beef (which is a kind of cheaper steak, not quite stewing but definitely not rump) although they like it chopped up as Jasper has no teeth and can choke. They also enjoy ox kidney, ox heart, plain liver (I guess it comes from cows?) and lambs fry. Hope that helps till FF50 comes on...

The more variety you can get the better! Chicken, turkey, lamb, beef, pork, venison, elk, rabbit, quail, buffalo, goose, mice, chicks, and duck are the kinds of meat that I can think of at the moment. You don't want to feed meat from other carnivores though.
I also feed live crickets (which I get from Petsmart/Petco). They each get fish once a week (either sardines or smelt) and about an ounce each.
http://artsiekat.com/forumpics/RawCatDiet.xls is a calculator to figure out how much of what you need to feed in a week.
Catster has a raw feeding subforum which you could post this question to as well: http://www.catster.com/forums/Raw_Food_Diet Then you can get a lot of other peoples opinions :)
http://www.catforum.com/forum/62-raw-food-diet/134857-what-does-your-menu-look-like.html is a thread on another forum which has a lot of peoples menu's. It also has a raw feeding subforum there.
Sorry I didn't see this earlier. I got a lot of meat yesterday and today which I had to cut up!
