I know it is a day early to start October, but oh well....I just recently got a Wii fit and have been using it in the mornings to do balance exercises. It is really hard to be balanced, still and focused during the zen exercise when you have a cat headbonking you for attention! Today I also walked the tightrope and did the penguin slide. Tomorrow, I hulahoop! Does anyone else have the fit and has it helped you?

That sounds like fun, KYK, but I think if I had the Wii Fit I would have a Georgie attacking me every time I tried to use it! He's tried to bite me when I was using weights in my bedroom (but he doesn't go after Mr. K when he's lifting weights in the morning, probably because Mr. K's weights are WAY bigger than mine :) ).
I am heading back to the pool on Sunday (was glad to find pools at 3 of our hotels in Spain) and am determined to make it to a spinning class on Saturday; I think if I can get back into that it will really help.

I'm gonna restart my Leslie Sansone walking dvd's (they are GREAT). I'm thinking of getting a Zumba dvd to do in the privacy of my own home. Anyone have one? Recommendations? Going to continue walking at lunchtime but now no more excuses. Just do it, Lainey!

I'm so upset winter is coming(by the end of this month who knows if I'll be able to go out without mittens, gotta love Iowa) so I've been squeezing in bike rides to enjoy the last of the nice weather. I joined a Power Pump class which is like aerobics with balance balls and light weights, its really fun but unfortunately my new job likes to schedule me when the class is so I have missed quite a few. KYK I have some friends with the Wii fit and they say it is actually quite a good work out, I think I may ask Poppa Bear for that for Christmas so let me know how you like it.

MB, I love the Wii for bowling, tennis and other games that get me out of my seat. I'll keep you posted on any progress now that I have the balance board. I am going to try the Yoga this weekend too.

Saw trainer today for first time in two weeks. Ear infection and bronchitis have kept me home. Proud to say I am down 3% body fat! I even did for the first time, all my exercises in-assisted and without modifications. She said in 12 weeks I am a new person. I am so proud of all of us and all the positive changes everyone has made. Keep it up littermates. Small changes are permanent changes. 21 days make a habit!

Wow way to go MC! 3% is awesome. I had a really really stressful day with my car breaking down on the interstate, missing class etc. I felt like I was going to burst so I took a nice jog around the block as soon as I got home and felt much relieved. Exercise is the best stress buster =) keep it up everyone, dee- you always find the most interesting articles. Saw my mom today after not seeing her for a while, she told me I look like I've been working out! =) always makes ya feel good

Good plan 2Pop. At my gym you can put your name up for reserve RBall court with open ended for whoever wants to play at that time...does your fascility have a sign up/reserve option?! I have the "moonlite/work" work out tonite with shoes! We are having a ladies nite so hopefully it will be busy but fun! I always get exercise there & get $paid$ too!
-
I have seen a list posted on the outside of racquetball court where you can put your name/phone number/email for someone to contact you. Not so comfortable with that idea. I tried a meetup.com racquet ball group. Um... didn't work out so well - I seemed to be the oldest in the group and after the initial game - there was no further interest in me as a partner. I have not given up - yet.
-
2Pop, I would love to play with ya! Wish I could, I would be there in a heartbeat. When I worked at the YMCA no one wanted to be my partner as I was kinda "new" at playing and not so great. Oh my heavens, I am sooooooo sore! My trainer had a "female" surgery today and so her hubby trained me. He kicked my butt, literally. We did hundreds of squats in all varieties, with and without weights. We alternated with the weight bench and lifted. My muscles are quivering. He did recommend doing about thirty minutes of walking around 7 to 730 or he said my muscles would be screaming in the morning and I might literally fall out of bed. Its a good bad feeling if you know what I mean. I keep repeating what the fitness coach taught us, "sweat is pain leaving the body" and keep repeating that! :)

Oh MC - I wish you were here too ! (Can't wait to meet you in Austin !!) I'm not great at the game, but I do love it.
After your walk, try an epsom salt bath. :) Which is what I may do after hula tonight - if I'm not too tired. My hip joints really hurt after HOURS of hula.

I'm still doing well. I did the MS 150 this weekend and took Monday off. Yesterday I swam 42 laps and rode 10 miles to work and 3 miles to GG's. Today I did my own little triathalon since the Jeep needs new tires - rode 10 miles home from GG's this morning, parked the bike at my house and then walked 2 miles to the gym where I proceeded to swim 42 laps. My friend drove me home and a few hours later, I rode another 10 miles to work. Still have 3 miles left to go to GG's tonight. And it's WINDY!!!!
