How beautiful! My husband's in Corning, New York, and he called last night to tell me the colors were SPECTACULAR on their trip! I can hardly wait to see his photos! He took my little camera and I have the big Mama to take with me to Shipshewana this weekend. Color Tour! Road Trip! Sunny Saturday!

I don't have one anymore either, but when I did everyone seemed to gravitate towards the warmest part :)

HI Joan, Deb and Siobhan!
Yum, I'll have a pumpkin muffin and some very hot java :)
Hope Leela is better, Joan!
I LOVE the east! We lived in N.H. for a number of years. I miss it! We had some great years there :)
Have the heat going this morning to take the chill off, brrrr.
Hope everyone has a good day! -
Morning Katthays :)

Hi Deb, Sio & Kat! *waving* I may call the vet today and see if Comet can come out. They both have been on antibiotics for a while. It breaks our hearts to close the door on the little screecher. Leela is intrigued; they play and poke under the door at each other! Hoping for a good day of no barfing, none of "the runs" and no sneezing!

Joan, that would be nice wouldn't, no screeching and they would get to play together.
Katthays, me either, one of my friends' mother is taking her kids to see the opening this weekend before the official opening.

Thanks for the funnies, Deb! And I didn't know about that bridge either. I hope someday to be able to travel. The farthest west I've been is Wisconsin.

Found this on FB, haven't tried it yet but love most anything with lime...
Fix-It and Forget- It We love drinking cranberry juice with a dash of lime juice during the summer and we were excited to discover this recipe for a hot Lime-Cranberry Punch. It is the perfect drink for a cool fall evening spent with family and friends. Click on our Weekly Recipe tab for the recipe.

Morning all. Such a beautiful moorning here in the heartland! I made an awesome fall side dish yesterday and just had to share.
My boss had given me a butternut squash on Monday and I had thoughts of turning it into soup. I scooped out the seeds, cut into chunks and peeled it and baked it for 45 minutes on Monday. Last night, instead of turning it into soup, I mixed it with brown sugar, allspice, cinnamon, raisins and a good splash of bourbon, I put it in a baking dish and dotted it with butter and baked at 425 for another 25 minutes. OMG it was awesome! Butternut squashes are pretty big so I only used half of what I had baked on Monday and froze the rest. Hubby said I could make that anytime and he would be a happy camper. It just tasted of fall. I paired it with chicken cordon bleau (frozen from sams) and we felt like we had gone someplace fancy for dinner. Next time, I will also make a green vegetable to go with, but I got started late.
Hope everyone has a marvelous day! Time to break out the warm apple cider and a cinnamon bun.

Kilroy, I am actually feeling better today. I think that whatever it was I did over the weekend was muscular, as it is starting to ease up. (or it could be the Mobic kicking in) Now I am almost back to my regular day-in, day-out (drag one leg and walk like a zombie) sciatica, for which I originally had the MRI. I took a looooooong soak in the tub last night and that really helped.
Katt and Jean, give the squash recipe a chance. The bourbon really adds something to the raisins and brown sugar. Hubby is not a huge squash fan at all, but was willing to try it. He is now converted. This would ptobably taste good with acorn squash as well. When I baked the squash on Monday, I did drizzle with olive oil, salt and pepper. So if you don't do a pre-bake on the squash, then salt and pepper the dish to taste.

Almost lunch time here...but I'd still love a pumpkin muffin if there's any left.
Loved the comics for today and the Bing fall photo was great. Deb, I couldn't get to your lime and cranberry recipe. Do I have to sign up?
Hope everyone is having a beautiful day!Posted 1 year ago by LadyKat of IA #
