  1. The original title of John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men was Something That Happened.

In 1974, Gerber introduced Gerber Singles for adults - small servings in jars almost identical to those used for baby food.

In the 1890s, the University of Nebraska football team was called the Bugeaters.

  2. Thank goodness Steinbeck changed the title!! What a horrible title that would have been! A car got mail--now how sad is that! Then again if they got a response written from the car...

  3. Ha! I feel like that Steinbeck title was very appropriate. That's how I felt about the book: "Something happened. The something else happened. The something else happened." Oh, and none of it meant anything. <--- I was an English major, btw.

I wonder what Bugeaters were in Nebraskan slang. Hmm... google time. Alas, google has failed me. All I got out of my three minutes of searching is that Bugeaters were a football team, which I already knew, and that it could also mean someone from Nebraska. But... but... but... why? Are Nebraskans known for eating bugs?

Sorry for the rambling. I'm in a silly mood.

  4. LK I am an English teacher. Some novels that we read I don't particularly care for, but I am happy to say that I kinda like Of Mice and Men. I know that everyone loves Grapes of Wrath--me, not so much.
