  1. Welcome! Today is Veteran's Day here in the USA:

Veterans Day is an annual United States holiday honoring military veterans. A federal holiday, it is observed on November 11. It is also celebrated as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day in other parts of the world, falling on November 11, the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. (Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 with the German signing of the Armistice.)

The kitties have the cafe all decorated in Red, White and Blue from yesterday and decided to leave up the decorations from yesterday. Today is a "make your own day". They have set up the omelet and pancake stations. There are all sorts of pasteries, cereals, fruits and yogurts too. The coffee bar is brewing delicious hot drinks. The kits are dressed in their finest red, white and blue gear to celebrate. There is patriotic music pumping thru the Cafe sound system.

Stop by and say hello, grab a bite and/or a drink and have a super duper good day! Thank you to all who have served past and present in our military. This includes Grandpa (WWII Navy), Uncle-Navy and Dad-Army!

  2. Good morning, Amy - Happy Veteran's Day!
Did you get a good night's sleep? I'm glad I'm not the only one awake at this hour!

  3. Morning, MC, yes, today was Armistice Day in NZ too, though mostly we commemorate a particular battle in WWI, Gallipoli, which played a big role in ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) history. That's a national holiday but it's on another day.

I will have some beautiful Danish pastries, please, and lots of milky coffee.

    Morning, GD :-)

  4. Hi GD, Hi JCAT! My power went out last night and they can't "fix it" until today. I couldn't sleep for fear I wouldn't wake up in time for work. I finally got up and came in. Figured I could sleep on the couch in our "guest room" if I needed too. My phone was almost out of power so I couldn't count on it for an alarm.

JCAT, I love your babies! What are they having today to eat? Here comes an orangie with your order!

  5. Morning MC, GD and evening Jcat :)

MC, ok duh moment on my part, so I see why you couldn't charge your phone....no power....dust bunnies must have taken over my 1-2 brain cells!

  6. Mmmm MMM. *Takes order from little orangie and gives him a quick smooch.* Thank you, MC. I love them too (but don't let Jas and Libs know, lol). Today they have had a buffet selection of chicken meatloaf for kittens, beef and venison mince and lamb and kidney chunky bits. They have ignored the chicken meatloaf for kittens but I expect it will all be eaten by the morning.

Usually everyone gets raw meat at night but I forgot to defrost it!

  7. Oh no, MC! I've had nights like that when I'm dog-sitting and forgot my cell phone charger at home and my phone is dying. I only ever use the alarm on my phone. I actually set two alarms on my phone, a couple of minutes apart, just to be on the safe side.

I can't believe it's on Thursday - I'm exhausted! Luckily the physical therapist who uses the gym drove me home last night so I didn't have to bike. Still had to hop on the bike at 4:30 this morning to come into work, though. Sigh.

  8. Lol, would those be my dust bunnies, Deb, or do you have humungous dust bunnies of your own?

Posted 1 year ago by jcat #

  9. I am sure if they are like my girls they will act like they aren't interested but as soon as I go to bed or go into another room they go eat it! Silly kittens!

  10. Morning Deb and Jcat! *waves*

  11. Oh-oh. Someone rather naughty just pooed on my telephone/broadband bill. Yes, that's what I think of that company as well, but now how am I going to send it in my tax return next year?

Posted 1 year ago by jcat #

  12. Lol, is there a suspect?

Posted 1 year ago by GreatDane #

  13. Waves back @ GD :)

Jane, mine would probably give yours a run for the money, sometimes I wonder if the crew sheds enough so that I could possibly make them just 'one more' kitty!

Posted 1 year ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  14. Jane, clean it off as best you can, copy it for your tax records next year and keep the original in a plastic bag if they insist on seeing it :)

Posted 1 year ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  15. Then tell them that they can have all the poop you pulled together for your taxes! What a story that will be!

  16. Someone was caught red-handed, or rather brown-bottomed, GD. A certain little black and white furry someone who is now trying to whap his mama on the nose and falling over a lot. Luckily for him, I do not tell off anybody who is only six weeks old....

  17. Aha, this is where you all got to, i'm off to bed now folks. Have a great sleep/day, whichever applies for you, or in MC's case both apply.

  19. Nighty-night, MS, sleep well and sweet dreams and scritches to Shadz, who I'm sure NEVER poohs on your paperwork.

Morning, JF, I hope that your son returns safely to you soon.

Posted 1 year ago by jcat #

  20. Very cool JF, and I too salute your son! Both you and your husband are to be thanked for your service too.

Posted 1 year ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  21. ROTFLMAO at the brown bottomed culprit.
Hi and bye JF, as a small welder I bet you could get into some tight spaces. Mr MS is a fitter/welder but works on the other sort of tank, huge petrol storage tanks, large milk tanks, sewage tanks etc. Raises glass of warm milk to Josh.
    Night all.

  22. Aww, Jcat, little guy was just confused - mistook bill for litter box :)
    Cheers for Josh!!!

  23. I need a cuppa tea. I should be going to bed but I think I will just have another cuppa... brb...

Posted 1 year ago by jcat #

  24. Going back to bed now before it gets daylight, so will be back a bit later. Everyone have a good day :)

Posted 1 year ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  25. Sweet dreams, Deb, sleep well!

Posted 1 year ago by jcat #

  26. NIght Deb. How's that tea, Jcat? I picked up a cappuccino from Dunkin Donuts and it is undrinkable. I'm working on a carbonated energy drink from the gym fridge instead - not what I want to drink in the morning, but it's that or falling asleep.

  27. GD, it's pretty yummy. But it sounds like you need to find a new coffee place. Or take a thermos in the mornings. Or keep a little one-girl plunger at work and a secret stash of coffee-making supplies :-)

Posted 1 year ago by jcat #

  28. Okay, I need to go to bed, and turn out the light on these awesome foursome, who have started climbing up large piles of paper in a most alarming way. Mum is giving them a good licking-to at the moment...

Posted 1 year ago by jcat #

  29. As much as I love coffee, Jcat, I'm horrible at making it :(
I go to DD in the morning because it's literally across the street from the gym. Panera is down the street, but not open till 6:30 - go figure! Also, I don't have a bike lock, so I don't stop anywhere when I bike. I keep the bike inside at the gym and in the mornings, I walk to DD to get my coffee after I've gotten my bike situated inside the gym. I used to love DD's coffee - don't know what happened :(
