LOL - Thanks Ann.
Well!! I never buy the precooked bacon. Too thin and not enough fat on it. :)

My dad is like that, he grew up on a farm and had 2 pet pigs. When they went missing and he found out what had become of them, he didn't eat pork for a year. He doesn't want to eat any animal that he 'knows.' LOL

I have a horror story of a time we went to visit my Aunt and Uncle, where that morning I sat in the yard playing with one of their bunnies they had in a large hutch...at dinner that night, an imp of a cousin brought up that this was the bunny on the dinner platter. Needless to say, noone made me eat it. :(

When I was a kid we went over to a friend of my parents who lived out in the country. They said that we were having chicken for dinner and he walked outside, grabbed two chickens by the neck and cracked them like a whip.
Needless to say as an 8 year old boy, it was kind of freaky to see. But yea, we had chicken for dinner.

We used to have chickens in the garden (a hangover from the war). If we needed a chicken to eat my Mum used to get a man from down the road to dispatch them as she never developed the "whipcrack" knack. Once she had to do it herself and used an axe!

My mom thought she could 'cure' me of my love for pork by sending me to my uncle's farm at hog killing time. I watched my uncle slaughter 2 hogs and it never fazed me. (he did the hoist them up and cut their throats thing). I may have even eaten pork chops that evening.
