Awwww, thanks so much, MC. I miss them. It is so quiet. After a day spent sleeping as if in a coma, Maisie is becoming quite vocal. I don't know if this means anything. The last set of kits who were actually born in my house were born on my bed while I was making sticky buns for a party at my place the next day. I didn't know their mother was pregnant. I went back into my bedroom an hour later and wondered where all the tiny squeaks were coming from, lol.

OMG JCAT, what a surprise! LOL

Morning! evening Jcat :)
I am sure the house is quiet now but wait until Maisie decides it's time...whoo! Then the fun begins. :)Awesome job with the j-mob though and they had a good start to their life for sure!Just waking up here, coffee in hand. Can't believe it's Christmas eve on Friday holy cow.
Abbie's birthday is next week too...I can't wrap my head around that one yet.!

Tell me about it! jcat..she's sooo intelligent...she's ahead of her age..which is nice in some respects but scary that she's 2! She was just my little fishie swimming in my stomach..lol Now she is the North American Abber Monkey climbing on everything!

Good morning, all! Congratulations to Jcat and the J-Mob on graduating! Best of luck with Maisie and her litter. I can picture you walking into your bedroom and finding surprise kittens, lol :)
I had a bad night's sleep - tossing and turning. The cats took turns sleeping with me and I kept waking up in strange positions because of that with aching hips, back pain, etc. Was going to get up at 4:15, but gave up on sleep at 3:30. My car decided to give me trouble on Saturday, so I had to bike into work this morning at 4:30 - it was dark, windy and 46 degrees and I was freezing!

Morning MC :) My morning basically sucks Monkey Toes, its cold in here (and I don't get cold) and the work keeps on rolling in like bad pennies, argh!!!

Morning all!.... Deb, the w**k screw up is poo!
Not looking forward to going 'in' myself, but must put in two days, then FREE!!!!!!..........
..... Son is home (with tons of 'stuff')..... and Mr. AV is gone to help Dau gather herself and move........ by the end of the week, we'll all be together again!......
.... hope everyone has a nice day!
-
Aww, Deb, can't believe they screwed up your leave and when you asked for it nearly a year ago! Typical! OMG, can't believe Becca's two either.
Well Maisie is purring rhythmically but she's not licking her behind at all. She's eating still, which I thought she wasn't supposed to want to do just before a birth. No show of anything. I will give her till 2am and then, if there's still no sign of anything happening, I think it's bedtime for both of us, lol. Wish I knew exactly when she was due...
-
Hi and bye AV..have a good day. Glad all the AV's will be together by the end of the week!
What a Christmas surprise jcat...you will be getting a lot of little mews for Christmas :) Although...Cricket's mom only had her...1 in a litter...she was an only child..lol

CM, if she were a small kittie with a small tummy, I would be expecting only one or two as well. But she is a bigger kitty with a HUGE tummy!
And I think this might be it. The rhythmic purring sounds more like panting to me now and she's clutching the blanket like she'd really like to bite it. But I hope it's a false alarm, I'm knackered!
-
Oh my...good luck jcat!
I am in and out now..Abbers is up and I must go make brekkie...keep us updated jcat!!!

Or possibly not, GD. Nothing's showing any sign of happening so I'm thinking the purring and kneading is just ordinary purring and kneading because I'm taking notice of her... It might not happen tonight at all so I think I will have to go to bed soon, unless something happens pretty quickly...
-
I expect she will wait until you have gone to sleep - after all a girl needs her privacy at a moment like this!
I hope you get a good night's sleep JC.

Okay, I'm heading off to bed because I suspect PM is right. But I will keep on looking in on her until 3am and then I am definitely hitting the hay! I'll let you guys know if anything happens before then. In the meantime, nighty-night, sleep tight and sweet dreams to all those finishing their days (me and Deb, lol) and have a great day, everyone else!
-
Night jcat! Hopefully Maisie will last till morning for you when you are awake :)

YAY BABIES IMMINENT!!!
Sorry I started another cafe (slaps forehead)
"In all the things in life I miss, I think I miss my mind the most"
Finished my cookie baking this weekend. I had made gingerbread dough last Saturday but didn't roll it out until yesterday. It aged beautifully! My gingerbread librarians came out nice and puffy-soft, almost cake-like in consistency. I think it came from rolling the dough 1/4", much thicker than my hubby normally does.
Get this, girls, he got two 1/4" dowels and put them on either side of the rolling pin, so the dough would be consistent. What a great idea!
I also revisited my peanut butter chocolate pinwheels and they came out much better this time. YAY! Every recipe I tried this year was new to me. Only had one spectacular failure...
-
mmmmmm Siobhan...peanut butter chocolate pinwheels??? oh wow!
Your hubby is a smart cookie...get it cookie...lolHow is our Miss Tansey?

I'm just thinking about making "Weihnachtsgebäck" - biscuity things that German people hang on their Christmas trees as edible decorations.

Tansey hung in there this weekend. I watched her bathe herself, first time in a number of weeks. She washed her face first, good little girl :-) She purred for me this morning and wanted some mayonnaise and took a big healthy drink of water from my glass. Even though she has two freshly-changed water bowls each morning, MINE is always better somehow :-)
First time I tried the peanut butter chocolate pinwheels I worked the dough too warm, and from the short end, and my rolls were HUGE. This time we worked the dough colder and rolled the -long- end, and they came out much better. Tasty no matter what :-) You can't go wrong with chocolate and peanut butter...
