  1. Thanks, NCM and SMM. Oh, and he finished his food, too, the stuff that had his pill crushed up in it, so yay again. I got an e-mail from Mr. K that said, "guess who's a member of the Clean Plate Club?" :D

  2. Kilroy, I'm glad that George seems to be doing better and hope you can try and be understanding toward his vet. It's not easy to find a vet that truely cares deeply enough to even bother getting emotional and I truely believe his intention was to make sure you understood how serious the situation is. I do feel for you on the pill situation, I've never had good luck with them and usually needed Rons help. I hope George continues to improve and I'll be checking back as often as possible to see how he's doing.

  3. Well, the crushing it and mixing it into his food seems to be working, we just have to be patient and let him finish his breakfast :)

Georgie says thank you, 2b, for checking on him, and so does his meowma.

  4. Just now seeing this and so glad Georgie is doing better. (Deuterbug to SM) Healing white light for them both!

If you have a petsmart near by my kitties love sophistacat wet food. I'm headed there tomorrow to buy a couple of cases to tide me over for a while. They love the tuna in sauce or really any of the flavors as long as sauce is involved. They get a supplement of glucosamine and choindroitin to help with healthy bladdre function. (It thickens the bladder walls which equates to less irritation in my boy kitty, Thierry. Also helps with joint function) Saucy foods help with consumption of meds mixed in with food.

  5. So glad Georgie is eating his meds and doing better. Continued good thoughts for him and you, Kilroy, and Deuter and SM, too!

  6. Wow, it all happens when I miss TDK for a bit...(bloody laptop needs fixing - AGAIN!!)...but I'm pleased to read this thread all the way through and learn that Gorgeous George is better. That was a rough 48 hours my friend, congratulations (& hugs!) for coming out the other side.

  8. Hi MCW!! *waving madly* I wondered where you'd gotten to, figured you were wrapped up in Christmas craziness. Even if not, hope the holidays were good for you and Chris.

Thanks, GD :) Georgie did good with his dinner, hasn't quite finished it all, but I'm not as concerned since he did finish his breakfast with the smushed-up pill in it. (and the v-e-t said it wouldn't hurt him if he missed a meal or 2 - he's up to 14 lbs - eek! I'm blaming Mr. K and the people food, although the vet said leftover turkey was fine).

i've just noticed how long this thread's gotten, and all I can say is thank you one and all for your concern and suggestions and hand-holding. I don't know how I would have gotten through the last few days without my TDK family.

  9. Just make sure that you don't get fish flavored food for cats prone to UTI's. Instead of copy/pasting the whole article here is the link to it: http://www.littlebigcat.com/health/why-fish-is-dangerous-for-cats/

Nightmare loves the Chicken in Gravy and Elegant Entree sophistacat flavors which probably have the best ingrediants of the Sophistacat varieties. I just wish Elegant Entree came in bigger cans than just the 5.5 ounce ones :(

I sent my friend a message, asking what foods she feeds to her cat prone to UTI's, but haven't gotten a reply yet. I'll either start a new thread, with the food suggestions, or post it here.

  10. Oh George.{{{{HUGS}}}} Poor poor boy. My prayers that you are recovering and that your parents can relax a little. It is so stressful when a furkid is sick. Hope you and Mr.K are able to worry a little less Kilroy.

  11. Thank you FF, for all your help and suggestions.

He peed again last night (yay!) but doesn't want to eat this morning (boo!). I'm hoping it's just an "I'll eat when I'm ready, not when you tell me to" thing.

  12. It sounds like your little patient is doing better, Kilroy. Way to go, Georgie!!!
My bet is you're right - he'll eat his brekkie when he FEELS like it :)

  13. Kilroy I'm so thrilled Georgie is doing better!! Did he end up eating this morning? Hopefully it just took a little while for him to come around. Go george, go!

  14. He ate about 90% of his breakfast so I'm guessing/hoping he got most of the pill. I just put his dinner down and he walked away from it, but he doesn't get as excited about dinner as he does about breakfast, it usually takes him a while to eat it.

Thank you all so much for your concern and suggestions and support. George just came in and curled up on the footstool near the computer; he says thank you too.

  15. Poor Georgie! My Bobby would be pissed if I changed him from dry to wet food!

Posted 1 year ago by GreatDane #

  16. He's definitely not happy about it, particularly in the wee hours when he's used to having a snack :S Lots of middle of the night meowing.

I just checked and he's eaten most of his dinner, so I would say that in the past 24 hours his eating and box-using have been pretty much normal for him - YAY!

  17. Yaay! Good Georgie! Bobby would definitely be yelling. And even worse, coming in bed and poking my face relentlessly all night.
Mi would be thrilled with wet food :)

  18. Yay - so glad to hear that little Georgie is getting back to normal! :-D
