  1. So many of you know me as Duchess'Mom, but today I found a new kitten my actual own rescue. He was found uptown on a street that I pass by frequently, he actually ran in my path. I stopped and after an 25 minutes of coaxing him to come out the man who fed him actually helped me get him in a box and I brought him to the vet.

We went to the vet. Dr. Hill guessed he maybe around 8 weeks. He gave his birthday exactly 2 months behind Duchess. He did have fleas and there didn't seem to be any parasites, but we'll have to see with a fecal sample. I named him Endymion, which if some people are familiar with the sleeping prince that the goddess Selene fell in love with. He actually is quite alert , but I felt Endymion would be a good name for him.

Mr. DM is allowing this one to stay here, but he did say we can't get so many that we need to be rescued. He looks like a mix of a Siamese and perhaps a tabby? He's got tabby markings but he looks like a Siamese. We also think that he is a long haired or medium haired, he's very fluffy and his tall is very thick. He's a picture of him.

P.S. he seems very skittish of loud noises so I'm hoping I will be able to help him in that regard since we all know Duchess is a loud kitty!

Oh, he and Duchess are separated for now until he gains weight [very malnourished] and he's gotten his vaccinations.

    Endymion

  9. Lol @ CM, I'm saying 'End- Dim - Eon' but my classical education may be at fault, lol! I think I will be calling this beautiful fuzzbucket 'Endy'!

  10. aaaaagh!!! You're all killing me!!! oh Endymion, you temptress! (or whatever a male temptor is!)

Posted 1 year ago by linda #

  11. CM &Jcat Haha, Endymion is also the name of the parade so I get lots of practice saying it. But here it is broken down.

    En-dim-me-on

That is it more phonetically so it's easier to pronounce.

Jcat: I definitely will but he is very wary of me...he doesn't hiss or move away, but he seems very scared of me, which I understand. I'm hoping he becomes more friendly like Duchess.

Linda: I get that alot on my work computer too I think we have firewalls protecting their computer from accessing it. Oh Endy, is what his nickname is, everyone is calling him that so it's easier.

  16. Oh he's beautiful! Yay for rescues, and you are one smart kitty, Endymion. You found the bestest meowmy possible.

I hope Duchess takes to the newcomer and all goes smoothly in that department, DM.

  19. Oh, I want Endymion too! Thank you for rescuing this kitty, DM!

  20. To everyone who's said he's beautiful Thank you he thanks you. Endymion looks like a siamese/himalyan or something, I'm not good with breeds.

As for Duchess, I'm kind of nervous...I hope he gets along with Duchess when they meet, I've given him some things that Duchess has frequented often like her old bed and a toy. He seems to be settling down on it and napping. From what I can tell he's been up since I found him, just sitting there now he's finally resting and laying down. He's close to Duchess size when she was younger, she has gotten bigger but I think after some good feedings and some nice warm sleeps he'll be bigger and fluffier.

  21. DM, he's soooo handsome! Thanks for rescuing this precious baby. He might be a 'ragdoll' if he's got a medium/longish coat. The ragdolls are very loving and mellow kitties.

  22. Another grandbaby! I am too young for this!!! But he is a sweetie! I think Endy was lucky to have crossed DM's path as well, as it was below freezing last night, and the poor little bit has no meat on his bones!!! He might not have lasted much longer on his own, even with access to food from the good samaritan... His temp was low at the vet, but I know DM is keeping him toasty warm now... He needs to put on some weight, it felt like the carrier was empty when I picked it up with him in it!!!

Linda, sometimes it takes a while for the photos to load as well... but you are right, files like that are probably blocked on your work computer for fear of viruses... Full COA deployment recommended when you do get access!

  23. DM, I suspect once he has gotten some good food and rest, he will be more energetic, less skittish, and be able to handle Duchess when they have the chance to get to know each other... Boys are (in my experience) more mellow with girl kitties than other boys, and vice versa... In a couple months they will probably be found sprawled next to each other, snoozing away in the middle of the bed! I know you will be able to help them work it out! Hugs to all!!! Welcome to the family, Endymion!

  24. I totally agree, NC!.... boys, when young, but really in general, will take to other males easier (assuming everyone has had a 'spa' day)... in all my many sets of cats, my males were the most bonded and easy going!....and IMHO they bond best to females too!....

... can't wait to see more pics, he looks beautiful, you know I have a soft spot for Siamese/Ragdolls!......

...I'm sure they'll be BFF in no time!

  25. what a nice Christmas present !!! and handsome too !!!

Posted 1 year ago by CSBM #

  26. KM if he is a ragdoll that would be amazing since I hear they are wonderful kitties. But I'm not sure I'm hoping as he gets bigger he'll start showing more of a breed. I can tell that Duchess will probably be a small short haired kitty. As for Endy, not too sure on him.

Yeah NCM I hope so. I can't wait until Endy gets a little stronger.
