  4. CUTE! Also make sure you get him tested for feline leukemia/FIV before you introduce him, since feline Leukemia can be transmitted fairly easily between kitties in the same household. (the vaccine isn't 100% effective either). The test gives results quickly although it is not 100% accurate for a young kitten of unknown origin. (ask your vet about it).
Thank you for rescuing this wonderful kitty.

  5. Definitely a handsome seal-point Alleymeese (mom was a lady of the evening and pop, a man about town). He will have to get a month or two on him to start picking out his background. If you are seeing tabby markings in his buffy body coat, that is in the mix somewhere. From there you watch for his body and coat conformation. If he stays short haired and explodes into a lean yard long leggy hellion you have a Siamese mix. Longer hair (medium) with a mane and poofy quill tail with the long leggy body you have a Balinese. Flat face persian body a Himalayan. Big fluffy carpet who collapses into a boneless armful of mush you have a Ragdoll.

Endymion is a great moniker, and Endy will be a great play on Indy once he starts treasure hunting in the house.

  6. LOL, AM!!! And thanks for the differentiation on the breeds... I think we might have a Balinese or Ragdoll, he has pretty long hair already, and no smashed face... I am sure DM will provide regular updates and pictures... she has gotten another USB cord for her digital camera, so she will not be restricted by her phone's limited camera options!!! lol
LS, the vet is planning to test, but wants him to put on some weight first, before tests and first round of vaccines.

  8. To everyone: Thank you, you gave me support for Duchess and the support for Endy is wonderful. I do worry about him not surviving though.

I think all the compliments are getting to his head haha. Although the only thing that worries me is his breathing. The vet noticed it and thinks he may have an upper respiratory infection but he said his lungs are clear but his breathing is not normal when I compare it to Duchess. She is a happy breathing regularly kitten. Endy is a small malnourished breathing oddily kitten. I can tell he's nervous and scared of me or his surroundings. He hasn't eaten much either so I'm not sure if it's from his scaredness or he's just not hungry. I'm hoping it's because he's not hungry. To be honest, I'm more worried about him than I was when Duchess first arrived. As for Mr. DM, he seems to like Endy, but he was not happy when I told him that the living room would have to stay quieter meaning no loud TV which he loves to watch. :/ oops.

We're defintely getting him tested for FIV. As for Duchess I would hate to get her sick from him, so I make sure anytime I touch him I wash my hands right after and the same goes for Duchess in case she's harboring something I don't know of. I would really like for Endy to become a strong happy kitty and not be so skittish but I understand it will take time, and I'm willing to do that. I just hope he and Duchess become friends since they are near the same size and she is two months older than him haha.

I will try to get some pictures of Endy a little later on.

AM: Thank you for your descriptions it was very helpful. He may be aBalinese he does have tabby markings though on his forhead past his seal point markings. I don't know if that affects anything. It would be amazing if he was a ragdoll. But I can tell he will be a very fluffy kitty.

  9. DM, at eight weeks, he has passed the worst danger points for kitten mortality and given how he has been having to fight for everything he's got, I would say he's a little survivor. I'm sure he'll fight even harder now he's found the place he's meant to be. Your biggest worry now is viruses. But I am very optimistic for this little boy, he has found his meowmy. Such a happy Christmas story.

  10. Thank you for letting me know that Jcat, I'm going through what I went through with Duchess, the worries of him getting sick. I hope he doesn't get any that will harm or hinder him.

Although the breathing is odd. I'm afraid something else that we can't see right away may be wrong. But yes it is a happy Christmas story, Duchess was my early birhday present and Endy is my late Christmas present.

  12. Actually Mr. DM did give me a Big Lebowski calendar on my actual birthday but then he brought me to get a pandora bracelet since he didn't know my wrist size. It was hilarious.

Mr. DM: Here's your birthday present you're gonna love it!

    Me after I've opened it: Oh, a calendar....thanks I um..really needed one.

Mr. DM: I thought you'd like it, Happy birthday!

    Me: Thanks.

Mr. DM: Tomorrow we'll get your actual present ;)

  16. Morning, DM! How is Endy doing this morning? How is his breathing? Hope he had a good night and is feeling more comfortable in his new surroundings! Remember that it has been lsss than 24 hours that you have had him! Sending soothing purrs his way....

Posted 1 year ago by nawlins catmom #

  17. DM, I'm sure that with your watchful eye on his breathing and eating, you'll keep track of how Endy's doing and get him to the vet right away if his condition worsens at all.

He certainly appears to be an adorable little guy! I hope he quickly recovers and will have the chance to learn that Duchess can be his best friend ever.
