Good Morning all! The kits are tired and want to take the day off! So they are having donuts brought in from Dunkin Donuts. There is, of course, the famous DD coffee available as well. Please come help yourself. Hope that you have a wonderful day wherever in TDK land you live!

Morning everyone!..... sluggish today, I thinks it's cause of a week long of needing to stay home, but dragging my butt in to w**k each day for about half a day, and then pushing myself too hard....... if I can just get thru this day, for the few hours i MUST be there, I'll have the rest of the days off til Monday.....
..... sounds like you guys are battling illness too, what is up with this new year, so far?
..... our weather here is getting cooler for a while now, tho not nearly as cold as a couple of weeks ago.......

Can I have coffee, please - and lots of it?
Big Boss sent me 81 pages of his book to edit - at 7:30am! Arrrrgh - I'm not functioning enough for that at that hour. Then this poor guy who has MS and is in a wheelchair came in to work out with his trainer. Except the trainer is in Tampa because his grandmother is dying. He must have been too upset to cancel with this client who now has to sit here for a bit over an hour to wait for his transport to pick him up and I feel bad :(Anyway, I'll grab my large coffee and scoot back to my editing.....

Hey there AV and Siobhan.
AV, hope you get to feeling better soon.
Siobhan, how are you doing, and I love the drooly voice :)

Looks like I came to the right place...I'm barely able to drag myself into the cafe. I was home sick on Tuesday, made it to work yesterday, but I don't know if I can make it here today. I just may give up and go back home. I can't seem to focus on anything. And I have so much work to do. And the medicine I'm taking makes me drowsy. Better shove a strong cup of tea in front of me.

Goodness, for a virtual family, we sure are passing germs around! I've got an icky cough which is so persistent is makes my ribs and head hurt. Oh well, keep pushing today and hope for a snow day tomorrow.
Comet goes to the vet tonight for his last set of baby shots and bloodwork for his big-boy operation. And boy does he need it - he's driving Leela crazy! I believe her bags are packed and sitting by a wall at an area that I suspect is the wormhole. I don't know whose house she's planning to crash, but if she shows up at any of your places, please let me know.Posted 1 year ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

Good Morning Peeps!
Gee, there seems to be too many germs/sicknesses going around, what is up with that?? I hope all those that are feeling under the weather will feel better SOON :) I hate being sick, I get very crabby, lol.
Oh boy Joan....it's Comet's big day. How wise your vet does blood work BEFORE surgery....unlike that woman vet who started Gizmo on his downward spiral :(
I bought some Wellness canned food yesterday, as well as my usual Blue Buffalo...also am trying one called 'before B.G.grain'....it is 96% beef. I have never heard of it, and also some other brands at the pet store were not familiar to me at all.
Good luck with your Mom situation, Kilroy!
Waves and Hugs to MC, Marnet, Deb, AV, LK, Siobhan and GD!
Those chocolate glazed donuts sure look good, I'll grab a couple on my way out! -
Kilroy, this happens to be our best trainer and je and the ms guy love eachother. This trainer never stands people u, but he was very upset about his grandmother and must have forgotten. The guy didn'tind at all and I gave him a magazine and a drink and he was jappy. I suspect for him to just get out of the house and be around people is a treat. But it was just one more thing to deal with and I only made it through 8 of 81 pages that BB sent me. Arrrgh!
-
It certainly was, Kilroy - as is me, attempting to type on a touch screen while on a bus, as evidenced on my above post :)
I'm home now, and friend is getting me in 2 minutes for sorely-needed coffee. Lots if people around me are sick and I really need to go get that flu shot. Maybe today's the day, though i'd rather get a good nap. It's a toss up wjich would be better for my health at this point!

Hi Spook! Can Leela come over to play? She wants (and really needs) to play with a real cat, not an annoying little brother!

Leela LOVES hide and seek!! Come on over, Spook! But first, she will "hide" Comet somewhere, hehe!

*Spook darts through the wormhole and the games begin!*
I've lost count of the number of times I've combed the house looking for Spook, only to have her show up later (often covered in dust), looking at me like I've lost my mind.
She'll have to teach Leela how to play "Meowco Purrlo" (Marco Polo) -- She and Snake love that game, too!
-
Oooh, that sounds like fun!

Hiya Joan & Cats...how are the kits doin'? Paarty time at Leelas but only girls allowed...If that is the case then Dot will sneak thru the worm hole too for she gets bored with Crockey big time & usually sleeps him off! Weee...here she comes! Me, well it is lunchin' time in sunny brewtown so I will grab my joe and find my fave kit & off to snuggle time for a bit. C'mon Tux lets find our spot right in front of the fireplace...purrrrrrr.

Hey, AZ...I'm doing better. I've been talking to a lot of folks, here on TDK, Facebook, and Catster, and it really helps me deal with Tansey's loss. Everyone grieves differently: my husband still can't say much about losing his little girl. He does not handle life transitions very well, feline or human. Bless his heart.
I've started putting out feelers for a pair of wee girlies. Might not be able to adopt until mid-February at the earliest. We have some out of town commitments coming up and we have to seriously look at our house to kitten-proof it. Haven't had to worry about that for more than seventeen years. Hermes was 3 months old when we got him, he was pretty much out of the really rambunctious stage and Tansey was already 11 when we got him.
We have tassels hanging from a number of our doorknobs and those would be irresistible to kittens... anything looking like a string that hangs down anywhere is a potential target.
There are two excellent animal rescue organizations in my town, and I've checked with both of them. No one has wee kittens at this time. Hubby doesn't have many requirements: two girlies; preferably siblings; do not have to be the same color; must be healthy; must be between 6-10 weeks old. We want to start with little kittens, to train them the way we want.
We want siblings so we don't introduce kitties that are all strangers to each other. Personal preference is two girls and I'm fine with that. One can have long hair, but I can't tolerate more than one with long hair with my allergies (yes, I take meds). I'd actually prefer short to medium hair, personally. Breed doesn't matter, mutt kitties are just fine. We already have a purebred in Hermes.
I also want to adopt from my own locale, there are so many kitties that need homes, and I want to stick close to home to adopt.
-
Awwww Siobhan....adopting 2 little girls will bring joy and laughter into your house again :) My hubs doesn't communicate or deal with things well, either, or can't. He holds everything in while I have to cry, rant, talk and get things out. Kitten-proofing will be a challenge :)) but worth it in the end ♥
-
Siobhan, most men don't deal well with those things, at least he is open to bringing in new little ones :) Hope that you find the little girls in Feb/March and then the fun begins.
Hey there Katthays, Joan, Jean, Cats4cats.
Finally got up and actually got dressed, need to mail a couple of boxes and then off to a doc appt with my best friend (its her appt) and then back home again. Still dealing with the sinus headache and earache so guess we have to stop @ Walgreens for something on the earache thingie.
