  1. So many people have congratulated me on my new job (big hugs to everyone!!!))

but some people didn't know about the most recent incident that caused me to finally take action. So here is it.....

Tue afternoon (1.15.08) I was busy doing sales reports and wasn't paying a whole lot of attention to the people around me. My boss came up behind me and said "Have you ever been bit?" Now remember, I wasn't paying attention, so I responded with "by what a dog, a cat, a mesquito? what?" My boss then said "No, a person" and proceeded to bite me on my shoulder. By that point I was definitely paying attention. I looked at him and said "YOU BIT ME." I couldn't and still can't believe that he actually bit me.

I told my parents and they both said that I should press charges for assault, which I have started. Now whether I continue depends, quite frankly, on my mood.

So you see, I got bit by my boss!

  2. Unbelievable..Well you do whatever feels right to you, not only can you file charges but you have wide open grounds file a lawsuit...do you think maybe this was sexual harrasment? or is he rabid?

  3. Did you document said bite? Any marks, bruising, broken skin?

If not, I hope you're able to get him to settle out of court, for a sum of money sufficiently painful to make him reconsider ever doing anything like that ever again.

If so... take him to court, and even if you only get your court and lawyer's fees awarded, it'll be worth it to get a conviction on his record. Creep!

  4. Have him taken in for rabies testing. They might have to put him down, but sometimes these things happen...

  5. Unbelievable! I've had many bosses over the years, but not one of them has ever bitten me!

  7. Wow Terri that is definitely a first. They probably won't find him guilty of assault but that was definitely sexual harrassment!

Instinct i agree with you maybe he should be tested for rabies and be put down :D

That is just plain weird. I am glad you are out of there!

  8. Yikes, Terri!
So glad you found a new job!

I agree with Instinct, too - have him tested for rabies and put down!

  10. Leave it to Instinct to cut to the chase with a great solution! Gosh, Terri - I have never heard of a boss biting an employee. Actually, I would think that goes beyond sexual harassement and is more assault and battery. Surely that did not break the skin? A human bite is one of the worst and the chances for infection are high. Thank goodness you have found a new, and better, position. But I guess the question about filing charges would have to take into consideration if this is "normal" behavior for him and if he has, or will in the future, bite other employees.

Just when you think you've heard it all! Yikes!!!

  11. WHAT THE??????? Was he joking? OMg that is reallly wierd!

  12. at the very least, you should make him prove that he is current on his shots. Although, I tend to agree with Instinct.

  13. Terri, you had witnesses, right? So they can back you up if need be. Gosh, I am so curious about him, is he ordinarily a wierdo?

  14. You know, to test for rabies, you've got to open the biter's brain...hmmmm...now there's a thought...

Instinct, I'm POSITIVE that you've got a fine collection of knives. Willing to share?

    I hope there were witnesses!

  17. I had to read this several times before I believed what I was seeing! I hadn't seen the other thread, so I am really glad to hear you've got a new job, but am just gobsmacked by his actions.

  18. OMG! I seconded what Anncetera said -

"Did you document said bite? Any marks, bruising, broken skin? If not, I hope you're able to get him to settle out of court, for a sum of money sufficiently painful to make him reconsider ever doing anything like that ever again. If so... take him to court, and even if you only get your court and lawyer's fees awarded, it'll be worth it to get a conviction on his record. Creep!"

Do you have an witnesses, can you ask if anyone else ever experience anything like this from this boss?

Good luck and keep us posted. So sorry you had to go through this. I hope you are able to get some sort of nice monetary settlment for your pain and suffering not to mention possible psychological side effects.

  20. I think you should test for distemper.
