  3. ROFL! PJ that is classic! Pleased to see we can get a whole day out of beans. I don't really have any favourite bean recipes but I am open to trying them these days unlike I was as a child.

  4. Abigail, I love making bean soups like that. They are so easy...you can pretty much just wing it and throw in anything and it will still taste great.

    Here is a recipe for a Tangy Four-Bean Salad...it's really good...and I like throwing in some corn, too. I think it tastes better when it has marinated in the fridge overnight.

  7. Dee, never heard of Beanie-Weenies. But I googled them to see what they were. We have something similar here - baked beans and sausages - they are little sausages in the can of baked beans. You can also get the same sausages with canned spaghetti. Always in my pantry as miniKK loves them.

  9. KK, I forget if you are a fellow lemon-lover or not...but I have been meaning to post this Nigella Lawson recipe for lemon linguine. It is delicious! It is so fragrant and silky and light for your hot weather right now!
    (And don't listen to WWM...pasta water needs to be as salty as the sea!)

  11. Dee I am a lemon lover and a pasta lover so this recipe is excellent! I also love Nigella's recipes - I was watching her Nigella Express show the other night and I am tempted to get that recipe book.
    Not sure I would use heavy cream in this recipe - think I might swap it out for creme fraiche or ricotta.

  13. If you make a substitution, I would go with the creme fraiche...not so sure that ricotta would create that really silky texture that the pasta gets from the yolks and the heavy cream.

  20. It's a balmy -10F air temp outside today. I even got a text to my cell from the Humane Societ reminding you to bring your pets indoors as their paws will freeze to the ground within minutes! It's THAT cold! I can't put on enough layers. I am at work, wanted to check in and say "hello" and "goodnight". Hope everyone has a good day/night and I will catch you later!
