  1. A full buffet is set up for a cold wintry Sunday. We have hot and cold items, fresh baked pasteries, eggs, meats, cereals, fruits, salads, "brunch" type items, soups and of course (a little later) desserts. The champagne is out and the coffee is brewing. The fireplace is roaring and the kits are busily cooking and welcoming guests. Come on in and say hello! I am having some waffles, sausage and hot chocolate. Hope you have a happy, healthy and slow Sunday.

  2. Good Morning MC!....... I slept in somewhat today...... Mr. AV and I rode our bikes downtown last night for a 'picnic' in the park by the river..... the City was having 'Lights on Tampa Bay'..... a festival of music and light shows by the various high rises downtown....... it was very nice......

.... I packed a picnic and we spread our blanket out amongst the hundreds of people and really enjoyed ourselves!..... it was a beautiful, clear night - the starts were above us and we had so much fun watching people!...... they had set up a huge screen with bright spot lights behind it, and a DJ playing loud dance music...... then people lined up to 'dance' across the screen - those on the other side saw them as 'shadow' dancers..... it was really fun!..... of course, I had to give it a go...... just to say I did it!.... LOL

  3. Oh AV, that sounds so nice! I am jealous, I am SO DONE with winter here! Just when it started to waRm up last week and now its icy outside. UGH!

  4. Hi MC and AV. I'm feeling sad today, because Georgie went bonkers at me last night and bit me :( We got home late and Mr. K thinks George wanted to curl up on my side of the bed and go to sleep (he usually ends up there after I bail out to the couch to avoid Mr. K's nighttime flailing around), but because I was there he got mad. He bit me on the leg pretty badly and honestly scared me half to death.

I hear you on the weather, MC; it's cold again here too, yuck. So sick of winter.

  5. Georgie!...... you bit your Meowmy?....... you need to appologize to her right now!........ of course, she still loves you and always will, but it hurts our feelings when you go 'bonkers' on us........ she didn't mean to 'take' your spot in the bed........ there's plenty of room for you there too........now be a good boy, and give her extra cuddles and purrs today!!!

  6. Once again, my car has been reborn as a snow drift, this time I can't even tell what colour it is! Back to hibernation for me. Oh, and I just got a reminder that Terri's 50th birthday would have been next Sunday. So hard to realize she was so young.

  7. Bad Georgie!!!

PJ, I had a reminder about Terri's birthday, too. What a sad loss.

Don't hit me but.... I wish we could have a tiny bit of snow. We have gone from weather in the single digits two weeks ago to highs near 90 this week. It's insane! It's around 20 degrees warmer than it's supposed to be for this time of year.

  8. Cindy, Terri, and Sharon were all very young. I miss them all.

May every one that is cold stay warm and those hot stay cool. May today be a blessing to all.

  9. May all of them RIP, Cindy, Terri and Sharon along with all the furbabies whom have passed.

I am going to head off for bed now, came home fed the Crew and Kitty slipped out the front door. After following him thru half the neighborhood, finally caught him and brought him back inside.....dang kitty, he was meowing the whole time because it scared him...dingbat kitty.

  12. Silly Kitty!!!....

I miss Sharon, Cindy and Teri too!...... they are at peace, and loving our furrbabies at the bridge......

  13. Arg.... how many minutes until Happy Hour?

I have been doing a hateful chore - cleaning out my closet. And this time I swore to be merciless. It is SO hard for me to remember that just because a dress still is in good condition does NOT mean that it's still in style! And the things that my mom gave me - it is so hard for me to put those in the donation pile. But today I looked at everything and if I haven't worn it in two years, it went out. Then I tried tackling the book shelves. Talk about hard!!

    I haz a tired......

Posted 1 year ago by WillowandWindismom #

  14. ..... and I'm sure Hazel was a no-show too! (worthless)..... I have done so many 'purgings' in the past 2 years of moving/cleaning out that I too 'haz a tired'! ..... good for you, WWM!.... we all need to do this!..... in our closets, and in our lives!

oh, and bye the way.... happy hour is 'relative'..... " it's always 5:00 somewhere"... LOL

  15. But why is it soooo hard????? I stood there for probably ten minutes holding the last sweater that Mommy ever gave me and tried to decide. But it's way too young looking for me and besides.... who wears sweaters in Midland? And even if I could wear sweaters I stopped wearing them years ago. It got to be really embarrassing when I would experience a "personal summer" in public and frantically try to rip all of my clothes off. That's when all of the turtlenecks in my closet went. Getting older sucks.

  16. *high fives*...... I know, right??!!!!

Posted 1 year ago by AV #

  17. AV & WWM, you are brave women....I have to purge my closet too and just haven't found the energy to do it.

WWM, how about taking pictures of the things that your Mom gave you, the ones that really, really remind you of her.....would that make it easier? I haven't had 'personal summers' but instead I was blessed with the 'hot as hell' 24/7 for the last 40-50 years unless I am sick then I am freezing.

And Hazel didn't show up in AZ either, wench!

  18. WWM I took baby clothes of Mini SM's and used it for a quilt. It is a way to keep the memory in concrete form. You quilt so I bet you can come up with something fantastic!

Posted 1 year ago by SoxsMom #

  19. Soxsmom, that is a good idea too. Wish that I had done that with the kids clothes or even took pictures of them.

Like this video it is not the best of focus but still good...

Yes, I am bored and sitting here trying to get 'tired' enough to sleep for more than an hour or two.

  22. Morning/afternoon Deb, I'm bored too for now but the news will be on very soon.
    News is on, back later.

  23. Jan, watch the news and then rest (yes I know you are tired of resting) :)

Posted 1 year ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  24. LOL!.... hey guys, I too get tired of 'resting'..... but then again, I get up and take a long walk down Bayshore....... really clears my mind!... (or what's left of it)

...... I've taken most of Dau's most precious baby clothes and have had them cleaned/boxed up and have begun giving them to many friends who's children are having kids...... Dau doesn't want them (self proclaimed) but I do have a couple of nieces who have loved wearing those special hand-smocked little dresses that my Mom made.... they are really beautiful!

  25. I have a cedar chest full of Mommy's clothes and although she's been gone over 12 years now, I haven't found the courage to cut them up and use them in quilts.

    Yes, I am a weeny.....

Posted 1 year ago by WillowandWindismom #

  26. Hi everyone! I think of Cindy, Terri and Sharon often and miss them.
Celebrated neice's b-day at sister's place and watched the Daytona 500. It was a nice afternoon. I made "melted snowman" cookies from a picture I printed out months ago. Thought it was fitting since we're sick of winter in these parts. For my first try and no recipe to go by, they turned out tasty and really did look like partially melted snowmen!
Oh, and a vicious closet cleaning is in my future too, perhaps when I have off tomorrow and it's supposed to get stupidly cold and snowy. Those 2 days last week were such a tease with temps in the 60s!

  27. Hi all. I did the closet cleanout at the beginning of Summer and will do another one before Winter strikes. Most of the leftovers went to the opshop but I did take some of the better quality things into a consignment store and am hoping she sells them or else I get them back! I find if you clean out at the beginning and end of a season you have an excuse to go shopping for new stuff! (Actually, we're women - we need no excuse). :-)

  28. Not a weeny WWM--You love and miss your Mom. Having the clothes keeps her physically close to you.
