  2. Bravo, Vicki! May your dream be realized by this country before it's too late! Vicki, I have a question perhaps you can answer from your perspective. Barack Obama is not the descendent of former African American slaves. Do you think that makes a difference in both how other African Americans view him, as well as people of other ethnic backgrounds? I also wonder if that makes a difference in his refusal to play the victim card. In fact, has that ever even been addressed? If, as others have suggested, he is taking on Dr. King's mantle, he comes to the pulpit from a completely different perspective than MLK. Curious as to your thoughts.

  4. Wow, Vicki - what a great dream! If I may, I would like to take it as my own dream, too.
Is PEACE such a alien word? I think not. I hope not!
That word PEACE should extend to every living creature, bringing not just tolerance but acceptance.
    I am with you.
    Peace, hugs and purrs

  5. pauljeaneMT (and Molly), Barack Obama's father having been African rather than home-grown black American may have some effect on how people view him; his being biracial (let's not forget, he has a white American mother, making him a true African-American) may also have an effect on how people see him. How he presents himself, however, will have the biggest effect on how people see him. Barack Obama cannot play the race card or the victim card because neither card is in his deck. Unfortunately, some people's parents put cards in their children's decks that have no business being there, force their children to play the poison cards, and then wonder why their children are in jail or dead. I am trying to undo almost thirty years' worth of spiritual and mental poison; I'm over six years into the process, and I ache almost every day in my heart because if I hadn't learned the poison of bitterness, negative views about race, color, and sex, and if I had been allowed to be the person I was born to be, I might be running for president.

  6. Good luck in your journey Vicki. Negative attitudes are poison and you are the better person.
