Chell, I'm afraid that I don't know the answer but I'm bumping this up in the hopes that someone who can help will see it.

Chell, if it were me, I would want to take them to the vet and get them checked over. What I would try in the meantime, if you think the weaning too early was the problem, would be to mix their wet food with kitten milk replacement formula or canned goat milk (you can get it in the baking aisle at Walmart, I'm told), warm it gently and see if they have more success with that. Even if they're only four weeks, they should be able to eat wet food mixed with KMR or goats' milk (don't give them cows' milk, they can't digest it).
You did the best possible thing by putting them back together. Is there any way your mum's kitten and yours can live together for a few more weeks? That would stop them being lonely and the one who's doing fine will be able to help teach your one about pooing and eating etc (as long as there's no medical problem involved with your one). I would want to keep them together until you think they're both about at least eight weeks and probably 12 weeks would be better. Cats learn from each other :-)

I took her to the vet and all she done was give her liquid paraffin but all it was doing was making her sick... My mum is gonna keep the two kittens together till they are at least 12 weeks old, mums kitten is great nothing wrong with her at all, just want my baby girl to get better. Vet thinks the kittens are about 4 weeks old now which means when i got her she was 1-2weeks old. no wonder she was very tinny and tryed milking from my yorkshire terrier dog.

OMG, two weeks old? That's barely eyes open and being able to walk properly. No wonder the poor wee thing's having such problems. I would be reporting the person you got her from to the SPCA, seriously, you are lucky they are still alive at all. The proportion of kittens without mums who die, even when they're getting everything they need, is very high -- up to 40%,

Took Kitten back to the vets today RSPCA and he has given me.... Lectade and Katalax..... got to take her back on friday.... He said she`ll be ok once we can get her going to the loo again... so far she has eaten, weed but nothing else but keeps wanting to eat my dogs dry food so i have lifted it up so she can not get it, maybe that hasnt helped her or even might have caused the problem

Hi chell, I'm also fairly new here and I have a litter of newborn kittens that are now 13 & 14 days old (2 were born before midnight on the 16th & the others on the 17th). I've gotten a lot of good advice and help from here, so I'd like to give back if possible. Have u guys been stimulating them to go potty? Cause it can take about a month or so before they are able to go all on their own. They can probably do it on their own at this age but it doesn't hurt to try. I've had a kitten who was constipated but it ended up being a urinary problem too and since he was too small for surgery (only 9 days old at that time) he didn't make it :( RIP Black Paws ): but I had to help him with pooping for a few days before that. Anyway, stimulating them every few hours I don't think would hurt anything, especially if they were only 1-2wks old when u got them, they may not have the full ability yet ??? How does the tummy feel? Is it firm? Cause I know that's not a very good sign, but your baby is a bit older, luckily, and theres a lot more they can do to help when they are closer to a month old. Also, if u choose to try the stimulation and your vet thinks it's a good idea, just know that it can take a little while of stimulating before they start to produce. My vet told me to keep it up for 3-5 minutes if needed, and to do it every few hours, but since yours are a little older I don't think you'd do it as often. About the food, if they're around 4 weeks old now, I think the kitten food mixed with kitten replacement milk is a good idea, but u could also put a little of the kitten milk in a dish and see if she laps at it. I've also found some "kitten slop" recipes online. I'll try to find some links for u. I wish u all the best and keep us posted. Oh, and when I first joined here I was wondering how to share pics also and someone recommended starting a catster page. If u click on my avatar u can see mine and from there I believe you can register and make your own (u can also do one for your dog, there's dogter too and u can do it all thru the same account), look in the upper left hand corner of the page for login/register, our u can go to the home page and find it there. I look forward to seeing your babies.

Here's some links I've found on kitten recipes and kitten care:
This ones for kitten food:
http://www.nocans.com/kitten-food.htmlThis ones for kitten milk/formula:
http://www.nocans.com/kittens.htmlThis one has a recipe for "kitty glop" as you scroll down:
http://en.allexperts.com/q/Cats-1606/4-week-old-kittens.htmI found a few that said u can use gerber baby food (chicken, turkey, beef) and mix with a some kitten replacement milk. Our u can buy the kitten wet food and mix it with the kitty milk as well, but they recommend staying away from the fish flavors for now as that will make your little one a picky eater cause almost all cats favor the fish flavored foods. But u can also just continue with the dry food sogged up with kitty milk too, they just don't recommend giving them plain dry food till about 8 weeks of age cause their teeth are just baby teeth still and they'll lose those soon and get their adult teeth. There is one page I found a while back that I thought was awesome cause it told all the developmental stages of kittens. I'm trying to find it so I can put it in here for u.
Well here's one of them, I'll let u know if I find the other one:
http://www.petplace.com/cats/developmental-milestones-in-the-kitten/page1.aspxI hope these help u and wish u and your kitty the best!
