I'm gonna turn in too. Too many late nights lately, and I keep trying to nod off while helping a kid read "The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle." It has been on my "to read" list for quite some time, and I would have enjoyed it a lot more if I had not seen all three Pirates movies.
I'll put it this way: there are only two differences between Charlotte Doyle and Elizabeth Swann. Charlotte is 13 and she is American. Otherwise, their stories are [extended hand clap] EYE-dentical! (remember from "My Cousin Vinny"?)
BTW, the book was written first. It's being made into a movie to be released this year with Dakota Fanning in the lead role (I kid you not).
You know, our family has the reputation for taking longer to say "goodbye" than we spent on the visit. Wonder why?
Oh, yeah, please don't forget to turn down the lights and put on some kitty-appropriate music if you have to go before MCW shows up (I think Deb is too pooped to pop tonight). Goodnight, all!
Tune in tomorrow: Same bat-time, same bat-channel!

Since it looks like everyone has bailed, I will do the preliminary shut-down.
dims lights, checks cat door (that's right, Dorie took care of it already)
bags garbage, puts food away (except a dish of dry for the furbabies)
checks water, adds two ice cubes for Sally Semi-Meezer but puts water (no ice) out for Naughty Bobsky
quick dusting (no pouncing on the swiffer, feline!)
turns on kitty appropriate music: tonight it's Al Stewart's "The Year of the Cat"
snorgle, snorgle, purr, purr, night-night! -
Let the closing of this night shift begin using a combo of closings gratis AZDEBRA,, LV, & Tigger....good job everyone...
check lights off and turns out neon "TDK Night-Shift Chat/Poetry Slam" sign in window, night lights glowing gently, puts on cool jazz radio for ambiance and stragglers
check cat flaps swings creeeeeeeek (pulls out WD-40), check cat flaps again to ensure they swing quietly and effortlessly
check doors closed, left just ajar so fuzzbutts don't come to us with complaints of starving
check dry kibble out as a midnight snack (so hopefully no 5 am breakfast wake-up call) and freshens litter-box.
Puts away assorted fuzzy, squeaky cat-toys into Toy-Box
check windows left open just a crack for fresh cool crisp air.
Those in the Northern hemisphere may close the windows if it is too cold, those in the Southern hemisphere, enjoy the warm breezes.Posted 4 years ago by KapitiKats in NZ #

Sigh, migraine headache still here, guess the weather pressure system isn't helping any & I am tired of taking my meds for it.
Did want to say that MS, KK, & Ginny did an excellent job of closing the Night shift!!!!
From what I could read, the night was entertaining for most, KW I envy your upcoming cruise. Ok, back to trying to become human again and not looking for the creep who is stabbing me in my brain causing all this pain...ciao for now.
