Yesterday i bought a new little kitten home. He's a silver Tabby and absolutly gorgeous. Unfortunatley he has been meowing non stop since they took him away from the other kittens. Im really worried about Opie and i just want to make sure he can be happy. Any advice??

Help! New lil man in the house!

Welcome to TDK Opies Mom, I'm just guessing here but I would say that your new lil man is lonely and missing his littermates. He's scared at the new surroundings. If you could just sit quietly in the room with him talking softly and if he comes to you then pet him very gently so he realises that you are his new littermate. Try and keep his new 'area' small in size for now so it's not all too much for him. Maybe even a box on the floor with a blanket and toy, somewhere he can retreat to if he should feel afraid. I hope that helps OM. Other TDKers will have other great suggestions.

Do you have any interest in bringing home one of the lil man's littermates(and do you have the ability to)? With a second kitty in the house your little guy will always have a friend to help him feel safe, even when you're not around. And I love watching the way my two littermates interact with eachother, even now that they're not kittens anymore.
If you're not able to have a second kitty, don't worry, be patient and gentle and loving with your boy and he'll adapt.

Give him a teddy a blanket and a hot water bottle - perhaps an old fashioned ticking clock to simulate Mum's heartbeat as well. Restrict his space so he isn't overwhelmed, but make sure he can get away from the hot water bottle if he gets too hot.
