MC pain clinic visit- REALLY GOOD NEWS! :)

  1. "Get ready to fight the hardest fight of your life. If you are willing to put in the time, effort, and dedication, we WILL beat your Chiari pain!". At pain doc and he said treating my pain is going to be extremely difficult and frustrating but rewarding. He said those with Chiari have a "hyper-exaggerated pain response" and feel pain at much higher levels than normals. Any pain I have, even a papercut, is felt with much greater pain. Unfortunately, I will never be normal, but we will figure the least restrictive pain management program. I am starting with some very low dose medicines for pain. I do physical therapy 2X per week as well. He said it is the utmost of importance that I don't work too much or too hard and I really take time to rest up. He said my body is completely worn down to its last little bit of energy.

  21. How wonderful to finally get some positive news. We all know how strong you are in spirit and willpower, so following doctor's orders will be easier for you than for some of us lazier TDK'ers.

I hope that just knowing there's something you can do about the pain makes it abate a bit and also allows you to sleep.
