  1. hello i just got a kitten and the lady said she was 8 weeks old and we got her home and she looks like she is about 4 to 5 weeks old and we been feeding her a lil sophistacat supreme kitten wet food that we got her at petsmart and we still have her on her kitten milk replacement.. we feed her 15 ml of milk every 4 hours and a lil wet food 2 times a day.and when we give her her wet food 2 times a day we mix a lil of her milk replacement in her wet food and she seems to like it is that okay.she will not drink water at all what can i do about that im thinking mix lil water with her milk to get her use to it or is there something els i can do.to get her to drink water.she also got fleas and i think she is to young to get flea meds and put on her what can i do or get so i can get the fleas off and to stay off.i got a flea collar on her now is that good or bad.can some one help me out this is my 1st time am im doing every thing right if not can someone help me thanks

  2. She's too young for a flea collar. The medicine on it could really harm her.

Try a flea comb or bath with Dawn (make sure to use warm water and immediately dry so she doesn't get too cold). The kitten replacement milk should have enough water in it that you don't need to add anymore water. Wetfood also is liquidy enough so drinking a lot of water isn't necessary. It's a good idea to mix kitten replacement milk with the wetfood. That's what handraiser do to wean the kitten.

Probably should take her to the vet in the next few days.

  4. oh and my male cat is not fix and she deff ant is it okay to keep them together they get along good.but should i let her be in the same room as him or keep her in a diff room

  5. If she is 5 weeks old she doesn't need to be on kitten replacement milk any longer. Just feed her kitten food. As for water, don't worry about it, just be sure she always has some water available. Cats don't generally drink much water anyway, unless they are fed mostly dried food.

I would keep the kitten in a separate room from your other cat for 10 days to be sure she is not sick and prevent any spread to your other cat if she is sick.

Be sure to comb the kitten for fleas at least once a day, preferably twice or more if she has a lot of fleas.

  8. Check-ups vary depending on your area. I'd imagine $35 - $45 would be typical, but call around to different vets. Yes, it's a good idea to get her checked out by a vet.

  10. Where do you live? There maybe a low-cost clinic in your area. Also, I've heard that unneutered male cats often will attack young kittens, so I could keep them seperate when you can't supervise them.

  12. Dundalk, MD? Or Dundalk, Ireland? If you live in Maryland near Balitmore, check out mdspca.org. They have a low cost clinic.

  15. Even though they seem to get along fine, I would not leave the kitten alone with your other cat at this time. Only allow them together while you are there to supervise. I would say that whether your other cat was neutered or not.
