Last night, I Heard Abbie up out of bed and went to investigate(this was about 9:45ish)...when I opened her door, I found her slathered in Vaseline from head to toe...she was naked and it was all over the floor, her nightgown and the wipes. Emergency bath and clean up. Her skin is so soft now...sigh...joys of a 2 year old....Note to mommy..don't leave the Vaseline in Abbie's room! Wayne bathed her while I cleaned up the room and got out a clean nightgown. That stuff is horrible to try to get off the body in such huge quantities!!

No video...we were just in shock and trying to figure out the best way to hose her down...lol. Wayne started calling her Grease Monkey instead of Abber Monkey. Silly girl

Her skin still feels a bit...greasy today...hair too...she will be bathed again. My niece mentioned this morning, that Dawn dish detergent works well for that. DUH...never even thought about that.

I swear by Vaseline, too. A light Vaseline mask before you go to bed each night is a fantastic moisturizer! Great for hands and feet and any other dry spots...
BTW, CM, I think Abbie is ready for stardom!

I just read in this Time magazine article from 1976 that Doris Day covered herself in Vaseline once a week, not once a month. Here is an excerpt from the article:
Suffering from dry skin? Maybe a wrinkle or two? Consider the remedy used by Actress Doris Day, 51. "One night a week I make it a practice to cover my entire body, forehead to toes, with Vaseline," she reveals in a new biography, Doris Day, Her Own Story, by A.E. Hotchner. "I then put on a flannel nightgown and lightweight socks to cover my feet and go to sleep like that." The gooey cure poses some problems. She cautions: "If you're sleeping with a man, husband or otherwise, you are not a very appetizing number in this condition, and it's best to be in a separate bed on this occasion."

Vaseline takes forever to get completely out. If the Dawn doesn't work, try some white vinegar.

So get this...I had put up the Vaseline in my room...she found it when I was downstairs and when I went upstairs to get her..she was 1/2 naked about to take off her diaper and had the Vaseline on the floor by her! Little minx....So now I put it up higher and where she can't reach. OMG...what is it with her and the Vaseline??? Monkey.

LOL @ Abbie!....... my cousin did things like that when she was little....... she too covered herself one day in vasoline I think my Aunt gave her like 10 baths and still couldn't get it out of her hair........ another time, we lost her (she was about 2 - I was 10 years older)...... we looked and looked for her, called, went out in the neighborhood....... really scared us...... turns out she had crawled in the fireplace, covered herself in soot and was just sitting there watching us all run around like mice looking for her!.... she was a minx!
