  1. (feeds kitten sausage link) This is truly inefficient, but this is how I now have to post the menu(s) of the day. Breakfast is ready; there's scrambled eggs with cheese, sliced roast, maple-flavored bacon, pancakes, apple chicken sausage, ruby red grapefruit and blood orange segments drizzled with honey, buttermilk biscuits, tea, grape juice, and Hot Toddys. Who wants eats?

  2. I have brought the coffee for anyone who needs a big mug on this Monday morning with the new environment!

  3. Hi Vicky - breakfast looks great, thank you! I'll donate some bagels with cream cheese, butter, assorted jams and mimosas. Maple-flavored bacon sounds yummy! *feeds a bit to my Shaddo and Jiggs - oooh, they like it!*

  4. I have what we're calling Mama Jean's Birthday Cake Trifle. Basically, the cakes stuck to the pans, so she pulled them out in chunks, layered it up with chocolate icing and cool whip like a trifle, and served it. It's amazing. :-)

  12. I'll take a bottomless cup and think of the Bobster! (who hasn't purred since Friday! Except for last night where I think we made it to between 8 and 10 blanket-sucking sessions during the night - yawn!)

  13. Can you spare a cup for me? I'll provide the ingredients to make it Irish. And of course I'll share the additive

  14. I have been drinking coffee all morning and I think I hit the limit; now I can't sit still. One of these days I WILL make up some maple-flavored bacon, it sounds yummy but I don't cook up bacon very often.

  15. Bottomless Cups for all! We will all be bouncing off the TDK walls! :D

  16. I need coffee!! What a day!

  17. I had a waiter tell me about "candied" bacon. You do the bacon on a rack over a baking pan in the oven and you sprinkle each slice with a little bit of brown sugar. Haven't tried it, but it sounds interesting.

  18. I have chocolate in any size, shape, or form you need...You need not use it for medicinal needs, I will give a prescription for anyone !!!

  19. Good afternoon all! I had to register, so you used to know me by Julie. Now I'm jkbeachdream07. I know I'm late to breakfast (had art class this morning) and all weekend, I didn't feel like logging on to the computer. But, I brought some cinnamon orange pancakes!

    Posted 4 years ago by jkbeachdream07 #

  20. Yes, that candied bacon does sound good. I am addicted to finding new recipes. I've used up 2 black and 3 color ink cartridges in my printer just within a month of getting it, creating 3 binders, each with 101 recipes in them, and I still have about 400 to print out. But, no more money for more ink. :(

  21. I've made that bacon a few times--it's great! But, in addition to the brown sugar, I put cracked black pepper over each slice. Sweet and peppery. Really good! (Big clean-up afterward, though.)

  22. Hi Julie, (and everyone else too...),
I'll take some of those orange cinnamon pancakes...my two favorite flavors all in one delicious pancake....YUMMY!

Posted 4 years ago by KathyfromVA #

  23. Yeah, they are good (I was surprised:)) I was just experimenting the one morning, because I wanted some flavor in my pancakes, and the result was a very tasty pancake. My mom doesn't like cinnamon, but she liked these.

    Posted 4 years ago by jkbeachdream07 #

  24. I guess I should explain a little bit more why I was surprised. I like to cook, but I follow the recipe step by step, and it comes out good, as long as I monitor it and don't let it burn. I don't do what my mom and gram do, they put however much of whatever in, they don't measure, if it calls for 1 tbsp, and they want 1 tbsp and 2 tsp, that's what they do. I'm too afraid it won't turn out ok, so this was very surprising to me that it wasn't too much orange flavor, or cinnamon, without a recipe to go by.

  25. Hey Dee, spray the rack with some cooking spray, and remember to cover the baking sheet with tin foil. I use raw sugar (brown sugar is a good sub if you can't find raw) and the clean up is a breeze.

*snags a cuppa joe to go and runs back to work*

  26. neenie--I guess I should have sprayed more cooking spray on the pan. But the mess was still worth it! That bacon with chocolate french toast is fantastic.

  27. Hey all, I had an idea. Whoever is the first on after midnight tonight and wants to open the buffet. Call the thread TDK Cafe and add the date. That way we will be current on the day with our offerings, recipes and comments. I am going to make a similar suggestion on the general chat thread. Dee you could do something similar with your news postings. Each day call it News from cyberspace and add your links as you find things throughout the day. That may make it easier to keep up!

  28. Great idea, ppearson - I'll be looking for the TDK Cafe tomorrow!

Posted 4 years ago by GreatDane #

  29. Where's Huddy's Mama? I'm surprised she hasn't posted on the new and improved TDK.
With all the talk about bacon, you guys got me hungry! I think I need to run to the store so I can try this candied bacon and cracked pepper.

  30. She is probably confused on where to go an post. All these threads is making it a bit difficult to keep up with the conversation.

Just ate my lunch and sure the afternoon sleepies will be hitting in about 15 minutes. Cafe opened up in my building last week. Can go down to street level and order a mocha. Not sure how they will taste but only way to find out is to order one.
