  1. I love iced mochas and iced coffee!
If there was a coffe shop at work, I'd never get any work done... I'd have to check out every flavor. Then again, with all the caffeine, I'd probably get double the work done!

  2. ppearson, you wanted to know what we have for breakfast here in NZ, I have coffee & toast with vegemite most days and if I want a 'get me through the day' breakfast I have porridge also. Vegemite, a spread, is a yeast by product of beer brewing and is an excellent source of vitamin B and lots of other good things, it is almost a national food in NZ and Australia. Sorry I don't eat more exciting food for brekky.

  4. How about a blueberry buckle, along with apple chicken sausage, bagels with cream cheese and lox, maple-flavored bacon, scrambled eggs with cheese and bell peppers, citrus fruit salad, hash browns, hash blues (made from the All-Blue potato, a potato with indigo skin and lavender flesh), tea, and Fuzzy navels? Who wants eats?

  6. Antipodean Moonshadow, what does vegemite taste like to those of us who have never had it? I'm American, so vegemite isn't exactly high on most Americans' grocery lists.

  7. I'll pass on the pecan stickies, Max and Molly's Mom; I'm allergic to tree nuts.

  8. So sorry, Vicki. How about some cinnamon buns? Frosted?

  9. Vegemite is a bit like Marmite in England. Aussies will tell you that Vegemite is a superior product, Brits will defend Marmite to the death. It's an acquired taste anyway. A recent advertising campaign on UK TV for Marmite had as its slogan, "You either love it or hate it". It's very good for you, loads of B vitamins (yeast and all that) and it's also low fat and because you need so little of it - it's a very strong flavour - it's almost calorie free!

  10. Vicki, trying to explain the taste of Vegemite is like trying to empty a bucket with a sieve, you think you have it but then you don't.I'm sitting here sniffing the jar and it smells a bit like the lovely thick stock you get from roast beef but it has no meat components (suitable for vegetarians). I can't do any better than that, sorry.

  11. Polly's Mum, how right you are, Vegemite is a superior product. My Mum has just returned from a couple of months in the UK, she didn't take any Vegemite with her. She bought some Marmite (similar to Vegemite) but found it quite different to Marmite here in NZ. It was quite thin almost runny and the flavour was different. To the uninitiated we have 2 yeast spreads, very similar to each other, and people tend to have their favourites. It's very interesting when a Vegemite lover marries a Marmite lover, loyalties are strong. I'm an equal opportunity spreader, I have both. They are full of B vitamins, niacin, riboflavin and folate and many other things that growing kids need, hence the reason Kiwis and Aussies seem to be raised on the stuff.
